avery may be the odd man out after this year with all our guards and potentially fultz, would L.A. be a better fit with us than S.A.? i'm not saying i'd do it cause he seems to have forgotten how to play but a year or two ago we would have done it. still?

No.

Aldridge is older than Horford and will decline in 1 to to yrs. AB is just to reach his peak and waaay younger with rm to grow...we will be fleeced bigtime if all of a sudden Aldridge performs luke David Lee....yup Lee was a 20 plus ppg then steeep decline after just one season so HELL NO.

If team drafted Fultz and it was straight player for player I would do it.

I'm not sure how Aldridge fits next to Horford. Especially as I see going small as a benefit against a lot of the teams we compete with. We'd be spending a lot of money on 2 guys who couldn't always be on the floor together.

It's why I think the next star we trade for will play the SF role *Paul George*

You know all that stuff people say about Horford that Celtics fans disagree with?  It's true for Aldridge.

Pass.

Maybe.  Aldridge is a huge upgrade from A Sherrod Blakely ;)

Boston say no.

Aldridge isn't as good as Avery Bradley anymore. He is already in physical and athletic decline. His defense is an issue at PF and he isn't committed enough defensively to play the center spot full time. He has struggled to keep up with the continually increasing amounts of speed and shooting at the PF spot these days. His offense is still good but he is more of a one-on-one scorer than a team offensive player which has hurt San Antonio's ball movement offense and can make him awkward to play with. His post scoring and his midrange shooting are still high end threats but his declining defense and lack of team offense hold him back. He is more of an average PF these days.

Avery Bradley is a purer two way player. A high end defensive player and an offensive threat that is easy to play alongside. A better team guy. Easier to play with on both ends of the court. Add in the age difference. Clear advantage Bradley.

Agreed.  Seems like having Horford at center, shooting three's, helps to spread the floor.  Aldridge is primarily a low-post and mid-range offensive player, that's spells trouble for IT trying to drive the lane b/c Aldridge's defender can help out.

Welcome to the modern NBA.

That would be an awfully-soft frontcourt.

Not just no on Aldridge. A trade for a star is win-now, which means keep the all-NBA defense guy, AB.

Smart has better trade value with RFA coming, so I think Smart might be the odd man out. Rozier's short money rookie deal and the guy's emergence helps make Smart the odd man out as well.

Like Aldridge but he doesn't fit with our team and I really see his good low post, turnaround jumper offense becoming a thing of that past.
We need our guard rotation to stay with best teams in nba.  Just need to add / upgrade a big and we are probably top team in east.  Now who is this player?  In another topic for pf I put add Marc gasol and move al to pf.  That to me is a top notch team.
