A friend (from Boston) of my brother's was staying with us and told me about Pierce and Walker and how good they were. I paid no mind to him as a New Yorker who stopped following basketball. A few months later I was flipping through the channels and came across the Celtics playing the Knicks. I remembered that convo we had and waited to see these guys. Within minutes I saw what Paul was all about, as the Knicks couldn't stop him at all. He went on to drop 40+ that game and instantly became a fan of his.
I found myself checking box scores to see what Paul did and if they won. By the time the playoffs rolled around, they were already my team. The next season I ordered league pass and watched every game. I've ordered the league pass every year since 2003 and can confidently say that I would have never been a Celtics fan if not for Paul Pierce.
Everyone who knows me considers me a die-hard C's fan. Born and raised in NYC, I rep a Boston sports team proudly and I bleed green.
Go Celtics and thank you Paul Pierce! Can't wait to see #34 raised to the rafters.
