whats the matter, the guy helped rescue the whole season of effort put out by the team
it wasn't just the shooting it was 5 rebounds in 7 minutes
brad never expected consistency from gerald , brad looked for electricity -
if he does nothing else but draw attention and open things up for his teammates
you can guarantee his name will be high lighted in the bulls game plan,
just like brads used to be

TP rollie. You are right on about GG.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

So about the stiletto...

Bad shot selection and bad defense resulted him getting just 12 minutes. Was also the only C's player that didn't have a positive +/-, as he was a -9 last night.

So, no one should be surprised, right?  Inconsistency is the hallmark of Gerald's career.

Brad predicted Green would win an important game for the Celtics, and he did, one game.

Some of us aren't.

It's been classic Green - he briefly plays like he has a clue, and then reverts back to the hail of bad plays that got him discarded in the Garnett trade a decade ago.

One would hope we will improve the roster above him in the off-season, and he can move on to another club.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Ball didn't flow thru to him.  1/3, with zero shots in 2nd half. Seems like IT was taking over and bringing everything through Horford.  Didn't seem like he flailed, but was not a focus either.

The huge lift that Gerald gave us in games 3 and 4 is undeniable. A great move by Stevens.
With that said, I was at the game last night and I was appalled at how bad Gerald is on defense. He has the defensive fundementals of a junior high school kid. He jumps at his guy , i.e. leaves his feet every time his man catches the ball, sometimes even before the guy upfakes!! His man would always either go by him or draw a foul. That's why Stevens had to take him out quickly.

The defensive issues are undeniable. And you just hit on his on-ball-d, but his off-ball-d might be even worse. The guy has no defensive awareness at all.

8 teams in 9 years, which don't even include stints out of the league. Inconsistent play, awful defense, horrid shot selection, etc. Yeah, he's the very definition of a journeyman. He's a Marcus Thornton type.

Rollie, you constantly refer to his play with the Suns, but you don't even realize that Thomas wasn't even on the team that aberration of a season. Thomas played with Green the following season, when Green proceeded to suck (FG 41%, 3's 35%) and only played 19 MPG.

Oh, that's right Stevens "fears" Green. I guess that's why he only played him in 47 games at a paltry 11 MPG. So, yeah, he probably fears Green, but not in a positive way as evidenced by his playing time.

Rollie since you think my criticism is totally unwarranted, here are some thoughts on Green from fans of some of his former teams. Enjoy.

It's the nature of the beast. Nader is locked up for 4 years at 1.5 per can't beat that and he's much younger.

The stiletto has been renounced.
He was always going to be renounced as his cap hold was larger than the minimum. That has no bearing on whether he will get signed again.

The roster crunch will likely have more impact...
