I know this was mentioned on the playoff thread but I figured it also deserves its own thread.

This could impact his Free Agency, and though they are up 2-1, I think it could make it even more possible Clippers could be first round exits (though I still predict Clippers in 7).

Man Griffin just can't stay healthy and the Clippers bad luck continues.

Have not been big on even attempting to acquire him this offseason.

His injuries scare the beejesus out of me.

You would be in cap hell for 4 years and never be sure he's there when you need him.

But someone will max him, no doubt. Just hope it isn't us.

The guy is Amare Stoudemire 2.0. Do not want.

I wonder how this affects the Hayward free agency? Theoretically does give the Jazz a better chance to advance.

But if they can't beat a Griffin-less Clips team, that might push him further out the door.

While he plays a position of need for the Celtics I hope we pass on Griffin.  His injury history worries me quite a bit.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Griffin has a player option for next year, right?

Also I think the injury to Gobert is far more devastating in this series.  I don't see Utah pushing this to 7, and wouldn't be surprised if they fail to win another game in the series.

Yes, and yes that's a fair point. Gobert being out also hurts Utah.

Still think this is a series that goes 7.

Clippers are kind of like the C's in that they make things a lot harder for themselves than it needs to be.

Can't have any more Avery Bradleys on the team falling to pieces like a cheap communist built car.

Rather have Bulter or George.

If the Celtics lose this series, I highly doubt Bulls let Butler go.

Only interested in PG13 if he agrees to a long term commitment. Otherwise, he would just be a rental who heads to La La Land in a year. Ainge wouldn't trade a premium to get him.

The injury history

The violent attack on trainer breaking his own hand

Doesn't have the skill set to age well , huge pass

The target should clearly be Hayward in FA, He fills a huge need as a 2nd go to guy/playmaker next to IT. Is way younger than Melo , and has connection to Brad.

Yup George/Butler/Hayward in that order

I think his injury history is overblown.

Hurts his left knee before his rookie year, out for year.

Followed by 4 straight All-NBA seasons of practically perfect health.

In 2015 misses 15 mid-season games with a staph infection (this isn't an "injury-prone" injury).

In 2016 misses 47 games with 2 different injuries (torn quad, hurt wrist, suspension).

In 2017 misses 21 games with right knee surgery.  Now has right toe injury.

I feel like that's about as injury prone as Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony, Kyle Lowry, Kevin Durant, Al Horford, Kevin Love, etc.

But I also don't think Brook Lopez is injury prone.  7 out of 9 seasons he's missed less than 10 games!  That's not injury prone to me.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Yes, he has a $21M player option next year. He will almost certainly opt out to get a much longer contract with a higher annual value.

Interestingly, CP3 also has a player option and probably opts out.

I wonder if there's any chance the Clips just blow it up?

Reddick will be a FA. clips do have his bird rights.

Speights has a player option at $1.5M which he will decline.

Mbah a Moute might be gone too, his player option is just $2M

If they resign CP3 and Blake they are gonna be WAAAAAY over the cap and yet be a worse team, as they will be a year older and have few options to sign new players.

If I'm CP3 or Griffin I seriously think about jumping ship.

Dang, the clips really are cursed.

Hayward should be far and away first since he won't cost anything except cap space.

As for Griffin, I wish both teams would have been healthy. Now each has an excuse as to why they lost in the first round and can use that excuse to bring their own FA back (Hayward/Griffin) insisting that they would have made it much further with a healthy roster.

Obviously I know this doesn't mean much (especially after the DeAndre Jordan saga), but pretty sure Chris Paul verbally committed to signing an extension with the Clippers for something like 200M+ or something overall.

I think they keep the "Big 3" + go hard after Carmelo this off season. Last ditch effort.

Doc "the GM" will convince them to max Griffin as well lol.
