  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
ehm I dont think revisiting the 2015 draft is the right thing to do after a loss in the 2017 playoffs

these are two unconnected events

lol TP.

Sky is falling threads aside, Terry Rozier had been better than Portis all year up until recently.
Right now, Rozier's trade value would be more than Portis' trade value.

Rozier has looked very, very good at many times this year. This is his second season in the NBA and he has had to simplify his offensive ability to fit a role. The guy was a go to scorer in college. On our team he's a 3rd string combo guard who is expected to play good bench defense and not screw up plays on offense. Brad obviously trusts him a lot already and lets him create his own offense because Rozier has shown his ability to create offense for himself and others.

Kid is oozing with talent and is a two way player.
In his 2nd year in the NBA Rozier is not even close to his ceiling. There's a chance he becomes a starting guard in the NBA one day.
Portis is meh/ okay and Rozier is good.
Rozier was the better pick.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Quote
. He have no outside shot and much worse defender than Sully.

I simply do not think the worse defender thing is true.  Sully had one good year on D, the rest he was utter trash.  Don't confuse being pushed around because Sully was fat with good defense.

Drafting is a GM 's job so criticism is fair game.   I think Ainge is a top exec in the NBA but even I do think all his draft picks have been solid.   I am concerned about his ability to draft bigs, too and please don't present Yabu and Zizic as evidence until they have played an NBA season.  But he is top not on trades and see values were others do not often.

Portis was hot.   He won't be the whole series.

Bigs from 1st round (don't even complain about 2nd rounders unless you are willing to list every GMs failures from the 2nd round):
Perkins at 27
Jefferson at 15
Sully at 21
Fab at 22
Olynyk at 13

Fab was a clear miss.

If Sully had motivation to stay in shape he would still be our teams leading rebounder and a solid contributor.

Olynyk is okay for where he was drafted, keeping in mind DA wanted Steven Adams.

The other two no one should complain about.

For where he was drafting, DA has done a solid job. If he was making terrible top 10 picks then it would be a problem.

I Don't think there is any question after tonight's win over the Bulls. Rozier looked awesome!!!

Yep all of a sudden we have even deeper depth with our guards

If he can give 80% of that output for the rest of the series we'll be in good shape

Draft night became a bit more interesting too

I like the potential of Portis a heck of a lot more than Rozier. In a few years we'll know a lot more.

Rozier came up big when we needed him most.

This is what happens when you base the entire value of a player/team/coach/franchise on one game.

You get owned by your dumb edgy take.

Oh please Smokey. Id still trade him for Portis right now. 11 points big deal. Portis was better in game 1.

TERRY ROZIER DIDN'T EVEN PLAY IN GAME ONE LOL!!!

I'm not a professional basketball player but id imagine it's hard to put up stats on 0 minutes.

Yes Bo, you're right. It's obvious that Portis is a Hall Of Fame player. And Rozier stinks. Except he looked pretty good last night.

Bo don't know.

Verdict is in. One of the stupidest choices Ainge has made in the draft.
A pick that nearly everyone was furious over for good reason.

We may lose this series because of it. Horford, Portis, Amir, Kelly, would be a nice Frontcourt.

Rozier gets no minutes, he's the Last thing we needed, but Ainge had to have his Binky.
Portis was easily the best player on the board.

 Terrible.
It's not as bad as Giannis over KO, but I think we can all agree on this.

Smart over J Randle still seems to be a mistake as well.
