Made the roster 15th, whew!

Here is hoping that Crowder plays.  Our chances of winning probably hinges on that.  Would love to have Avery too.  Without one or both of these guys, our chances are slim.  Fingers crossed.
Definitely.

I think the Cavs are going to rest their guys tonight. With the double OT game Sunday, Lebron leading the team in minutes last night, I just think it'll be a statement to the Celtics and the league. "We don't care about the 1 seed, nor do we care about your national TV Schedule. Rest and longevity is what's important to us."
I don't see the Cavs resting anyone.  They want to make seem like they don't care about 1st place and beating the C's, but they do.

I just don't think they care. The only thing being the one seed does for Cleveland is gives them a home game against Boston in game 7 of the ECF. If I am Cleveland I think I can get the ECF done in 6, which makes where game 7 is irrelevant.

If they win- they feel good beacuse they can beat Boston without Lebron
If they lose it's because Lebron didn't play .
Win win for them .

  • GOT IT!!!
I'm tired of reading the quotes that this isn't a big game. Some of them from Celtic players none the less. This is the biggest game in the Garden in years. They can say what they want but it is. C's need this game and they better play it like it's a Game 7. Don't play if the game doesn't matter. That goes for both teams.

Also Korver just came back after missing 11 of the last 15 games. Love seems fine now after missing time.

I think having TT out helps since we might be able to win the rebounding battle and create some extra chances. Also TT was always good for some easy baskets just standing under the rim. Not as easy for Love when he's on the perimiter. They'll have to rely on Love and Frye going down low a lot which could mean less 3's overall.

The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Logical, but I bet they don't do it.  Those two guys are perimeter shooters on this team, not easy to simply change roles for one game.  Instead, maybe we get a Larry Sanders sighting (but maybe he's still tuning up in the d-league).

I'd be surprised if Crowder is ready given he was very tender and sore yesterday, didn't practice, and was wrapped in ice. OTOH, Avery seemed to be very charged up for tonight's game and practiced yesterday per ESPN:

Quote
"[Bradley] looked great today. Looked fresher," Stevens said. "I thought both games at home last week he looked like he was still fighting the aftereffects of being sick. Obviously with it recurring, it did give him a chance to get some rest, which has been good. And he feels pretty fresh today. He looked good."

That may be what the Celtics are saying, but I think that their on-court actions will be very different. They're up for this one.

+1 because your siggy made me chuckle.

I agree.

I'll go one step further and say, as much as we all want us to win this game,  I'd rather see Crowder rest and get fully healthy for the playoffs.

We saw last year how much not having a healthy Crowder hurt us for the playoffs.

Yup.....not going very far without Jae ....have to have him in a series to guard guys like LeBron

It's going to take a massive effort from the rest of the team , maybe all the way to the end of the bench to take the Cavs without Jae.

Secret weapon to night I predict is .........

Adam Silver would be reeeeealy angry about that I bet, considering his recent comments

Considering how much "influence" (cough) the commissioner has over games, I wouldn't poke the proverbial bear if i was Cleveland.
