If you could choose only one draft out of the next two to land the #1 pick, would you choose the 2017 draft or 2018?

I think a lot of people would say 2017, but I would choose 2018.  The 2017 draft is said to be really deep, meaning a pick other than #1 could still land you a top tier prospect.

The 2018 draft has a lot of promising big men, which I think would be more of a need moving forward for the C's.  Obviously we have guys like Zizic and Yab coming over, but prospects like Porter (who I know is not a traditional big) and Ayton would be hard to pass up.

Which draft would you choose?

2018, not only for the big men but because we've locked up a top 4 pick in a draft with 3-4 studs this year. Next year, who knows what pick we're in the mix for, or how good the 3rd/4th best guys look.

#1 in 2018 is Luca Doncic, a shooting guard.  I would love to win this year and next and start Fultz / Doncic as the most entertaining back court in the NBA for the next 20 years, please.

But yeah, the top two picks of 2018 are most likely an SF and an SG.  I think I'd rather win this year and lock in Fultz because he'd play great with either of the top 2018 picks + Jaylen.  But I would be happy with either one.

I picked 18 because I think the upside of the players in the top 3 maybe 4 are higher than this year but I must say I think there is bigger bust potential too. Ayton always leaves me wanting more. I have seen him play 6 or 7 times and only once did I see a complete game. I really hope Sean Miller can put him on the right path.

Im assuming the thread means that if we can only win the lottery once (first pick) in those 2 years, which would I rather have?

2018 then. The falloff from 2018 is greater than the falloff from 2017. So if the basketball gods can only grant us 1 wish, I'd choose 2018, since 2017s consolation are great.

Eh.  I want both.

Short of that, a top 4 pick in either will still make me very happy.   Landing one of Fultz/Ball/Jackson/Tatum/Isaac this year followed by one of Doncic/Ayton/Porter/Bamba next year?

Sign me up.

Agree with others on 2018. We know for sure that any of Fultz, Lonzo, Jackson, or Taytum are really good picks and we are guaranteed to get one of them. The 2018 draft class may be similar, but it's not as set in stone as this year.

Selecting Jackson (for instance) and knowing that we have the #1 pick in 2018, guaranteed, would be absolutely wonderful!

I say 2018 for two reasons.

1 - The consolations prizes in 2017 are great players.  Maybe Celts would even land our top choice at pick 2 or 3 since #1 doesn't seem to be unanimous.
2 - Ayton fits a position of need more than the #1 pick in this draft.

Ive got no idea how good the top of the '18 draft is.

Thats why I voted '18.

Will Brooklyn be a FA destination because of their lack of youth and picks making this poll kinda moot?
