there was a period that amir looked brittle and like he was running on eggshells(most of last season)
i have suffered from collapsed arches and heel problems (bone spur)very painfull but repaired itself somehow and never returned
i read that amir had bad ankles also and was high mileage
my point is i understand the pain, secondly he is running and moving like a younger version
blocking shots and covering more ground quicker and it has become OBVIOUS lately
has he finally jelled with horford, stepped up his game coming into playoffs or just plain old healthy?
yesterday he took off upcourt like he was twenty

It's pretty remarkable because he looked like he was washed up, but now he is a key piece in the frontcourt.

I recall that Amir had a very serious back issue earlier in his career.  It is amazing that he recovered to the point where he could play again and now even thriving.

Well, the team has been extra conservative with him both this season and last season. He's only playing ~20 minutes a game even though he's starting every night.

I've noticed the same, Rollie. Hoping his feet are feeling better. He's really under-appreciated by the fans, IMO.

footey-i went back and watched game again and there was a bounce in amirs step and he drove to hoop, put pressure on screens
getting bradley back with amir rejuvenated-makes amir and horford a formidable duo
i was shocked on rewatch

This is a good observation. Amir is such a smart player, if he can move around a little better and be, like, 5% faster that makes the defense a lot more versatile and could be a big deal in the playoffs.

Bumping this.

I missed the game but watched Amir's highlights against Miami. It looks like he's moving around as well as he has for as long as he's been with the Celtics. Amir still isn't even 30. It's not age that's been slowing him down, it's chronic health issues. If he's truly healthy for the playoffs, that could be a big deal for the C's.

Having a healthy Amir is absolutely vital for this team.  He finally looks like what we were all hoping for when they signed him.

Celts generally in pretty good shape health-wise heading into the playoffs (knock on wood).  JJ's knee thing appears to be minor, but I don't expect to see him too much in the playoffs anyway.

All season long I've felt like Amir's pick and roll defense is at least substantially better than Horford's.  Especially when there's only 1 big out there and Amir gets to be the 5.

Granted, Horford's rebounding, passing, and post defense are better, but that smallball lineup with Amir is dangerous and arguably our best defensive lineup overall due to the pick and roll coverage, and their ability to switch and scramble/recover quickly on rotations.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Amir is going to be important for our playoff push. I expect the rotation to shrink in the playoffs. Hopefully Amir is ready to see his minutes increased.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

The one drawback of signing a max player like Hayward is we won't room to bring Amir back.  It could leave a hole at the PF spot.  Unless that max player is a PF like Griffin we will have to somehow fill that void next year.

I think Amir can be a little underrated around here. Not flashy or scores much but does a lot of the dirty work in the post.

I doubt that highly.

Brad has done a terrific job rationing Amir's minutes and its been his foot which has really bothered him throughout his career.

Im far from a medical professional, but I dont think PEDs would have too big an impact on the foot injuries that have slowed amir throughout his entire career.
