Them losing Gortat probably helped out a lot. It seemed like 2 of Jason Smith, Markief Morris and Otto Porter were their big guys for most of the night, and we exploited that. Even IT rebounded well.
I missed the game, but if Gortat went down, that explains a lot.
Gortat didn't go down. He's been ineffective the last month or so, and was benched. He's 34, and was run into the ground early in the year. He averaged 35 minutes in October/November, over 36 minutes in December, 32-33 minutes in January and February, and under 24 minutes in March.
I've been saying for months that the Wizards were going to crash late in the season, because they relied way too much on their starters early on in the season, and that is coming home to roost.
