Them losing Gortat probably helped out a lot. It seemed like 2 of Jason Smith, Markief Morris and Otto Porter were their big guys for most of the night, and we exploited that. Even IT rebounded well.
I missed the game, but if Gortat went down, that explains a lot.

Gortat didn't go down.  He's been ineffective the last month or so, and was benched.  He's 34, and was run into the ground early in the year.  He averaged 35 minutes in October/November, over 36 minutes in December, 32-33 minutes in January and February, and under 24 minutes in March.

I've been saying for months that the Wizards were going to crash late in the season, because they relied way too much on their starters early on in the season, and that is coming home to roost.

Gonna need a source on that, I was there and he ran into the lockerroom. I didn't see him come back out though I'm not certain about that, but I'm certain he ran down the tunnel.

Because our bigs are soft

Nothing as gutless as anonymous internet posters calling pro athletes battling with other 7', 250 pound pro athletes soft.

This thread is soft.
Oh those poor poor pro athletes getting consistently outrebounded. How dare we? Don't we realize they do battle other pro athletes? And get consistently beat?

Btw....are you really "battling" with other bigs if you are consistently outrebounded by Avery Bradley?

If our bigs aren't soft then Avery is He Man Master of the Universe.

Still, his point stands. "Nothing as gutless as anonymous internet posters calling pro athletes battling with other 7', 250 pound pro athletes soft."

Give me a radio or tv contract and I'll say it all day.

He gets $25 million to play soft and lazy

I get nothing to say what everyone sees publicly and is thinking.

Also the point doesn't stand because I've said it out loud on social media many times. What do you suppose posters are afraid of? That Al Horford will come to our houses? That other posters will disagree with us?

Doesn't change that they bigs are soft.

I guess by this theory the posters that are the cheerleaders are very courageous.

I was watching the Wizards broadcast (I live in DC) and a) he was on the bench in uniform, and b) they did not say he was unavailable to return.  I've found nothing that says he was hurt, and it's tough to provide a source for a negative statement (that he was not hurt).  It looked like they just stuck with Jason Smith.  Gortat had a -7 rating yesterday in only 12 minutes.  He's been at a -4.4 per 100 possessions this month (he's been positive every other month this season, generally far above zero).  I'm fairly sure this was a lineup switch because he's played poorly all month, Smith was playing well, and they wanted to win the game.  As I said, they've already his minutes by over 25% from February into March, and his lack of minutes was an extension of that.

Sounds credible to me, except the part about playing Jason Smith because they wanted to win  ;).  I wonder why he ran into the locker room.  Bathroom break?

See that's a very good conversation.

Is Felger gutless or courageous?  I lean towards him being a tad tough because he's an outsider saying things we don't necessarily want to hear, but I don't think it takes a ton of guts to be a pessimist or a devil's advocate.
