Shocking. Who could ever imagine Doc would do this?

Hard to tell if you are being serious of facetious. This does not surprise those of us that told yall about the real Rivers.

He's being facetious but I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes it's hard to detect sarcasm when its written compared to when its spoken.

And I swear that last sentence wasn't me being facetious.

Clippers don't need Rivers as a coach.   Most decent coaches fold do as well.

The deal is ........if CP3 leaves ........essentially you've cut the head off the dragon ....

No CP3 .......the Clippers crumble , with or without Doc.

The Clippers will be instantly the worst team ,  kicking the Lakers, Philly and Nets out of the basement.

does sound like that, but then again, I kinda wanna see that happen, not because he returns to the Magics or the East, but it really gives us a chance to see Brad vs Doc more closely, we will be seeing them 4 times a year and can see who can technically rebuild faster.

Agree.

If he does, do we press to sign him or Hayward?

Why do we want a guy who leaves because he is not good enough to combine with Chris Paul to make the Western Conference finals?  Who is also injured all the time?

Probably because he's one of the best PF's in the league.

Saying he is injured all the time is also not entirely true, he's played 80 games in 3 seasons, as well as playing in 66+ in 5.

I think that there are better options for us than Blake, but he's still one of the best players in the league.

Because he is a terrific player and fits exactly what we need.

Star level talent: No question, Blake is another big time player granting us credibility.

Secondary scoring option: Absolutely. No longer just a dunker, Blake is a career 20ppg guy.

Rebounder: check. Griffin has put up solid rebounding numbers, and those numbers are probably depressed by the fact that he plays with Deandre Jordan

Big Man: We need another credibly big man.
Specifically a power forward: Al fits better as a center.

System fit: absolutely. Blake is a great passer, which is huge for Brad's offense. Also, he has extended his range enough that while he is not a floor-stretcher, he is also not a paint-clogger.

He turned 28 this week, so while he is an older 28, he will play his age 28, 29, 30, and 31 year old seasons(ending his final season as a 32 year old) if you give him a 4 year max.

Thats young enough that he can still give you all star caliber player for 4 years.

Hes a dream fit.

Doc really no better for Clippers than the guys before him IMO.

He was no savior
