Let's see how this offense does without IT.

When IT was injured earlier in the season the Celtics didn't do so well except for the Magic game.

Fortunately they play Brooklyn and Philadelphia now.

The difference between Brooklyn and Philly isn't merely that we have IT and they don't.  We should still win both games.  I think I'd start Rozier to keep Smart with the second team, and Horford can help corral some of Rozier's hero-ball tendencies.

well, i suppose this means smart will start. at least the celtics defense should be improved for these games.

With the Washington game Monday night (BIG GAME), Celtics probably playing strategy.

"Rest him" in the two "easy games", and have him 110% for the Wizards game Monday.

That game could ultimately determine the #2 seed in the East.

Seems like a pretty obvious DNP - rest. No big deal.

  • That's turrible
Love it. Totally fine with it. Smart is more than capable of running the first unit for a couple games. Maybe Horford will score more now.

Just so everyone knows, it seems Bulpett agrees that this seems to be more about rest/extra precautionary than anything substantial.

Our most important player gets some rest - great!
I hope Crowder and Smart get a breather somewhere too.
If we manage to stay whole (outdoors knocking on wood while throwing a nickle in a fountain behind my shoulder) we will actually be stronger by 5 good to great NBA players than the team from last year. Thats Horford, AB, Kelly, the real Jae Crowder and Brown and that is no joke.

Should be able to sleep walk through these games even on the road.

Good to see Smart, Rozier, and Brown get some extra minutes next two games.

Good to rest IT for the Washington game. I think this is our most important game remaining this year. Beating Washington will almost guarantee us the 2nd seed or better. Beating Cleveland gives us a better shot at #1 but I don't think that realistic, especially if Love is coming back.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

As long as IT plays in april against the Bucks when I come to USA I'm fine :D

More seriously, that's ok. He will be rested against Washington. We must be able to win without him against Philly and Brooklyn anyway.

We give Smart some responsibilities also. Enjoy the rest Isaiahn you deserved it

I'm rooting for you to not be disappointed, but that's the last game of the season and seeding could be all wrapped up by then.
