for picking Avery Bradley where he got him.  Kid is a complete player, possible All-Star.  Unreal defender.

Keep complaining about JR Giddens tho...

You're wrong man. Every morning before I make my coffee I say into the mirror "The selection of Avery Bradley was an underappreciated move by Danny Ainge."

Every morning

But aren't you doing exactly what you're criticizing other users for doing so?

I was very critical of Bradley when he first came though. But I love his intensity, his calm and quiet demeanor, and how hard he works to set himself as a example to every other rookie and player.

Unfortunately, I'm at a point where I love Smart, Crowder, and IT a little bit more. So I think ultimately, Bradley/Crowder will most likely be flipped for more useful assets/star player.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

No I am not.  Getting a 1st All-NBA defender who can average 18/7 at 25 years old with a pick in the late lottery is a home run selection.  I think Bradley is horribly underrated by most people, especially people on this blog.

Avery is my favorite Celtic and his impact is definitely under-appreciated.

The kid is a consummate professional and each offseason improves a different part of his game.

If we could have twelve players with his mindset and work ethic, we'd be golden.

Where would you put him in a 2010 draft re-do? I have him 8 or 9.

No worse than #6.  Who are the 8 players better than him?

Bradley

6th. Whiteside should probably be ahead. I just hate his game.

That's about where I had him, depending on my mood on Whiteside and Derrick Favors' potential to return to form. But even if I go by his output last season, Avery might still be ahead of him.

But there's no argument he's worse than 8th.

Advanced stats aren't kind to Avery, he's 19th in VORP and 15th in Win Shares.  Total career value he's probably mid teens, current value is much higher though.

I'd go something like:

Cousins
Wall
George
Hayward
Whiteside
Bledsoe

With Avery in a group with Monroe, Favors and Al-Aminu

Bradley is so much better than Monroe and Aminu.

last year I would have given Favors the nod, but IDK if hes already peaked.

Bradley was a top two high school in his class, Ainge hit a gem.

He also took KO when he could have got the Greek Freak and drafted Fab Melo.   He is a great GM but no one is perfect.  We are lucky to have him but pretending he is perfect is silly.
