I'm pleased with the overall effort of the team today, solid win. The guys played hard and, most importantly, locked in on defense.

But it's hard to take much else out of this game. The Bulls are cooked.

The one thing that has been apparent, is the vital importance of Horford and Bradley. Thomas provides the scoring punch, but those two do everything else.

I KNOW ZILCH about basketball, but there were multiple experts on this blog that thought Jimmy Butler was worth BKN picks and multiple assets. WOW!!!

I hope the Celtics develop an identity from this game, and that is we are a DEFENSE first team. Lock up the other team early and often and kill their spirit. That is how you take them out of the game early. Defense wins championships and we have defense in spades.

Jimmy Butler with a star studded 5 points in 32 minutes.

Jaylen Brown played better than him this afternoon...  8)

Yep. Real nice win but the Bulls were also terrible. Lots of good stuff to take away from this game but I'm not expecting it to be this easy most nights.

joining late and only looking at the box score and game thread.

celtics played well folks, especially on defense it seems. brown looks like he can really shoot. all those worries we had about his shooting seem unfounded.

nice win, nice game. tps for everyone!

Danny would have looked like a real idiot if he had given the haul for Butler.

It would have immediately turned Chicago into contenders and Boston into Chicago.

The Chicago Blog would have started a BKN Nets season watch thread.

And it begins with Avery Bradley.

On a night like tonight, much easier to list the negatives than the positives.

Smart was disappointing, effort sucked down the stretch.

Great game!

I would have traded a Brooklyn pick and the ambiguous "assets" for Butler at the deadline and I'd do it today too.

agreed. Smart looked bad today.

based solely on the stat line, rondo looked cooked.

is he really done as a player now?

In my opinion no, he's less than a year removed from leading the league in assists but Chicago is an absolute dumpster fire. Fred Hoiberg is not an nba level coach and their front office has done them no favors.
