How, how, how do the Cavs have the same % chance as the Utah Jazz at winning the NBA championship?

And the Wizards are 1/5 as likely as Cleveland to get the East's #1 seed, but are twice more likely to win the title?   ???

their model incorporates recent trends and such. 3 game loosing streak to teams they were heavily favored against set them back quite a bit

Haha I didn't mean literally how does their model get those numbers... I mean how do they write their model to clearly overestimate factors like recent trends so badly.

HOLY MOLY. YOU HAVE ARRIVED AT YOUR DESTINATION

Still.. this is the same website that basically locked in Hilary..

Hillary won by 3 million votes.

LOL what a complete joke.

May I recommend dropping by your local community college and taking a civics course?

In which, they will teach you all about the electoral college, it's purpose, and why no candidate campaigns simply to get more votes.

The more you know.

pretty irrelevant to the debate here.

Firstoff, Im not sure its wise to call Donald Trump an authority on democracy.

Second, suppose he is correct, skip the massive discussion of the merits of the electoral college. Im willing to do that. Lets stipulate that the electoral college is undeniably and inherently wrong for democracy.

It doesnt matter.

Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and 538 all knew that Clinton and Trump were in an election with an electoral college.

538 predicted Clinton to win with 86(?) percent certainty.
538 was wrong. Donald Trump won.

you want to debate the merits of the system? did Clinton appeal to more Americans? maybe.
would Clinton have won if we went by the popular vote? perhaps.

Those are other debates. Donald Trump won the election. 538 predicted Clinton to win.

Those are the facts.

I do not think our current president is a good choice. I did not vote for him.

But both candidates knew what it took to win, and the both knew getting the most votes isn't the strategy.

She did not win in any sense of the word.

Does a baseball team win because they have more hits, even if the other team has more runs?

(certainly a tired analogy, but still fitting)
