Anybody wish we had a rim protector?
\

You mean like your binkie, Demarcus "barely protects the rim at all" Cousins?

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Am I to assume by your non-response that you're okay with giving up multiple easy shots at the rim?

Yeah, who needs an interior defender like Boogie?  Come on buddy, Bledsoe would NOT have EVEN drove the lane two times in a row IF we had Boogie in green!!!  Let it go Roy!!!  He is NOT worth your time!!

Smitty77

Cousins is not that great of a defender as some people imply. His effort on defense come and goes. And last time I checked, Pelicans still don't have a win with Boogie. They only win they got after the all-star break is when Boogie was suspended.

I think the 37.6% FG and the complete lack of competitiveness for three quarters against an awful team are more to blame than the one or two breakdowns at the end.

Perhaps, but it was a winnable game, and having even a situational big man who can play defense would have saved the game.  Hell, Perk would be more valuable to this team than Jordan Mickey.

IT is another player I dont want to pay when his contract is up
Classic overreaction.

nah that was my standpoint before this game already...
Then post it in a different thread before the game, not seconds after he makes two mistakes to lose us this one in the game thread.

I'am so sorry being in the wrong thread.
so before I post while a player does some mistakes

players I dont wont to pay (keep) next season or the season after:

Jerebko, Olynyk, Thomas, Johnson, Zeller, Green

horrible end to the game, very disappointing.  IT with the bad play, but that happens to even great players once in a while.  but this one was embarrassing.  I know we had starters out, but uggg.

i actually thought our letdown game was going to happen against the lakers.

Embarrassing loss frankly.

Glad I had to go do something and had to stop watching after the 3rd quarter. Always lessens the disturbance to not view the choke.

Is it just me or did immediately after that last basket IT look back at Crowder like it was his fault?  It would confirm what I suspect of him as a teammate, so figure I'm not the best one to answer this question.

I love Ball too.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

This team does not have the depth to sustain the loss of 2 starters. Currently the only worthy bench players are Smart and Brown, and sometimes Rozier. Everybody else on that bench are mediocre.  I really wish DA had made a move at the deadline for a big. With Horford out, you can see there is no one else to play defense and protect the rim.

The team who deserved to win won....end of story.

They didn't deserve to win. Just like we didn't deserve to win against Cleveland. That's just what happens when you're missing two of your top 5 players.
We rest two started because of the bad opponent .

Who said we rested 2 players? I thought Horford had a sprained elbow and AB is out with a hamstring issue.

We need to keep our pick I think ...take one of those kids ...Ball or Fultz .......that's cheap production of points on Rookie contract .

We seriously need to use that pick to add a scorer to help IT.  that will allow, the trading off of an expensive player.

IT is a great player who believes he is the only great player. He thought he could let the ball roll and throw up a full court shot. No. IT dug us into a whole early and wanted to take the glory in the end. No, not today IT. As much as he yells at his teammates he needs to swallow all of this one.

Pretty much this. IT was a big reason we lost tonight, but it goes way beyond his late crucial missed free throw and the game losing turnover.

Early in the game, he forced a ton of possessions and was absolutely terrible defensively. At one point he was 3-12, and he ended up at 10-25, which isn't great either. Further, he gave up a ton of points to both Bledsoe and Ullis, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up giving up more points defensively than he actually made offensively.

It wasn't all IT, though. Our bigs outside of Amir, especially KO, were exceedingly terrible, but that's on Danny for not doing anything to upgrade this roster.

But all that being said, it's becoming extremely tiresome rooting for our lone star that has such glaring holes and weaknesses in his game. Especially being a defensive-minded guy who loves a strong defensive team and one that plays smart with high BBIQ, it's becoming more and more difficult to continuously overlook these glaring weaknesses with our star player, who might legitimately be the worst defender in the league and is starting to play selfish, forced basketball more and more often with his efficiency taking great hits while doing so.

At least with Smart, Brown, Rozier, Yab, Zizic, and our two Brooklyn picks there's still time to mold them into passable two-way players.

This is why we need to take Fultz/ Ball. .....this gives us another star ....then we can dump junk for another serious player like George.
