  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
The Nets basically have nothing. They have less than nothing because they owe us so much of their everything.
Anyway, the one ray of shining light for them has to be Caris Levert's play. He has his 2nd NBA start the other night and was very good.

13 points and 7 rebounds on solid shooting.

But just watch his game and his fluidity-looks like a legit keeper for them and at this rate, will be a serious building block.
Anyone watched him recently? I had really wanted this kid and thought he'd be a star at draft time. Has injury woes but the Nets have a real piece with him

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Still wouldn't be a huge factor until year 3 when they finally get to keep their own pick
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

I really hope he stays healthy.  I'd been touting him on this board since the beginning of his sophomore year.  He's a great kid and could have a solid career if his body lets him.

Happy for him and think the Nets are a great situation for Caris to develop.

Saw some Nets fans being obnoxious on Reddit trying to throw it in our face that LeVert was playing better than Jaylen and who needs high picks when we come away with better players than who the Celtics take top 3.

It's like Ok I get it. These Brooklyn fans need something to cling to but let's try to remember there's a bit of an age gap to consider here too.
LeVert - August 25, 1994 (age 22 years) vs Brown - October 24, 1996 (age 20 years)
LeVert Soph at Michigan - 13 Pts, 4 Reb, 3 Ast in 34 MPG vs...
Brown Fresh at Cal -  14.6 pts, 5 Reb, 2 Ast, in 27! Mpg

Ya know I think I can forgive Danny for taking Jaylen over LeVert.

Talent was never a question with Levert. It was a question of health.

If Levert is playing much, this is a good sign for "our" pick next year.

I mean, I'd rather have Brown than LeVert right now for a variety of reasons...

But LeVert in terms of a one game value added proposition is a better player than LeVert. Let's relax here.
