He's been fine to me. Sometimes he has bad games where he misses multiple bunnies but his spacing and passing are very solid, and he does a good job helping against dribble penetration when perimeter guys get beat. He sucks guarding outside the key, but his stretch ability is very key to our offensive success.
Remember that he only takes 12 shots a game and 4 of those are 3 point shots.
If he shoots 50% from 2 pt and 30% from three he's averaging 11 points.
He's not with us for his scoring, although he does give us a nice post presence, and his 15ft jumpshot is very, very good too.
We are 2nd in the East and Al Horford has been the biggest reason for this vs last year. IT has played better but Horford has made everyone around him (including IT) a much better player with his versatility.
He will age very well too considering he missed 2 seasons with pectoral issues and doesn't rely on athleticism for his age.
He's averaging 14 points off 12 shots which is good. Think about how many of these shots are from 15 feet or further or out and think about how much time he spends standing on the perimeter away from the basket because of our offense.
Quite frankly he's been very good overall. Without Horford we are fighting for the 6th/7th seed IMO.
14 points, 5 assists, 6.6 rebounds and very good paint protection.
34% from 3 and 50% from 2pfg with a huge chunk of those 2 point shots as long jumpshots.
We can win a championship with Al Horford as our starting center and that's the important thing to remember IMO.
His contract will look completely fine as more giant deals get handed out.
