Bogut has a ring and he's playing more for his next contract than revenge. He'd look better and get more time on the Celtics than any other contender.

Counterpoint: Bogut's already made more than $100m in his career and teams know what he brings to the table. He's not going to add any new skills in 25 or so games with the C's that convinces someone to give him more money. He may be content with minimum and midlevel deals for the remainder of his career to give him the best shot at winning. Cleveland - next to GSW  - gives him the clearest path to another ring. Championship rings never go out of style.

Counterpoint: This is what these guys play for, money. They aren't going to have a chance to earn this kind of money ever again after this, they all try to maximize it, as they should.

Of course, he won't add more skills, but VERY importantly for a guy his age seeking a new contract after having missed most of the season due to injury, with a career history of injuries, is consistently showing that he still got it.

What helps Bogut's career more, a potential one and done in the playoffs with the Celts, or showing he can play 20 high leverag games with the Cavs?

Well, it depends on what his role is on each team. Playing a regular role for the Celtics for the rest of this season and managing to stay healthy through it would help more than a few cameo appearances in a long playoff run for the Cavs.

It may be though that he knows he can't manage to play a regular role anywhere nowadays, and will go for the high profile cameo appearances and hope it's enough to convince someone to sign him.

Anything that gets him through the regular season+playoffs without injury.  He'd likely play a bigger role here (which would mean more wear and tear each game), but the Cavs will (well, should) be playing more games, which means more chances to get injured.  Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I think he'll end up picking the option that has a better chance at getting him a ring.
I'm bitter.

If this comes to pass, it's crazy how deep Cleveland is:

Thompson / Bogut
Love / Frye / Derrick Williams
Lebron / Korver / Jefferson / Jones
Smith / Shumpert / Liggins
Kyrie / Deron / Felder

It's sad that the NBA has turned into a two-team arms race, but that roster is impressive in its depth and fit.

Warriors-Cavs have given the NBA finals a slight boost in ratings the last two years at least according to Nielsen.

I actually think the NBA has had one of its most entertaining seasons in years thanks to its offense explosion.

Sounds like it will be the Cavs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have emerged as the favorite to sign veteran center Andrew Bogut provided he can negotiate his release from the Philadelphia 76ers by Wednesday, according to league sources.

The games really are not that entertaining. Games like Clippers versus the Warriors and Thunder versus the warriors were really entertaining basketball the last few years. With the Warriors now being a super super team and the thunder being severely weakened they are not even close games for the most part and are pretty boring. Living in the Bay area I can even tell you the enthusiasm levels at restauarants and bars for regular season games is way down.
