Give him the Maximum allowed for the next three years (about 30+M) then have a player option at 25M for year 4, and a fifth year on a team option for 20M.  It would be a 5 year 135M deal.

I get that IT will only want the max for the full 5 years.  But I have to imagine Ainge will not be interested, and IT may lose a lot of money by walking away from the Celtics.  I think that this is a compromise between the two sides.

An alternate deal (more favorable for team) is the same front three years with a team option fourth year at 30M and a fifth player option at 20M. (5yr 140M)

What is this fascination about how much IT's contract will be?
All I care is basketball. Salary cap is for Zarren, it's his job.
As for who deserves what, well life is not fair, specially in basketball.
At last, all those players are rich whatever the amount of money they get.

not a cap expert by any means, but I dont believe you can have more than one option year on a non-rookie deal.

because ITs contract affect our ability to do other things and get other players?

ITs contract is really relevant.

I looked it up the rules.  You can have multiple options in a contract but they can't be within the same year/season.  One issue with my proposed contracts are you can't have a lower salary in a season following an option.

Maybe the Celtics offer a Deal that has the 4 year max + team option 5th year.

You are stating the obvious.
Again, this is Zarren job. Danny will come out with a strategy based on Zarren numbers.
What's the point to discuss it, we know nothing about their plan.
IT deserves the max. Now will it take it and kill flexibility that might cost championship. Will Danny low ball him because he doesn't believe in IT?
Who knows? who cares? We can't speculate on IT's contract as a fan. I don't see the point.

whats the point? well there isnt one. Just like theres no real point in discussing who should win MVP, or who we should target in the draft, or what the rotations should look like, or who we should go after in free agency.

Some people are interested in the cap stuff and more people are interested in trying to map out a long term plan for the team.

Isaiah's next contract is obviously relevant in deciphering that long term plan, so the intrigue in it really shouldnt be surprising.

Because it directly effects the fans.  That's the main reason why this website exists.  Stop being a buzzkill

Raises / decreases year to year can be no more than 8% of the first year value of the contact, I believe. If IT is making $30 million for the first three years, the least he can make in the fourth year is $27.6 million.
