I think Ainge should try and get 2 top 10 picks in this draft since it appears to be really strong.

Keep 2017 Nets pick - hopefully #1 - Draft Fultz

Trade Nets 2018, all 3 2017 2nd round picks, Brown

Target the Mavs, Kings or Knicks 2017 #1 pick

Trade the other top 10 pick, Crowder and Smart to Bulls or Pacers

Get George or Butler

Sign Haywood in FA

IT (max deal)
Fultz (rookie contract)
Butler (under contract)
Haywood (max deal)
Horford (under contract)
Zizic - pennies
Yabusele - pennies

That's some serious small ball.

I can't think a Celtics fan can propose this.

So your 6th and 7th best players are two untested youngsters. And one of them is currently playing in the Chinese league.........

Amazing idea... For the raptors and the cavs!!!!

That seems almost fair, but the Celtics don't have Dee Brown anymore. He was part of the Kenny Anderson trade with Toronto.

2018 and Brown for a top 10 pick this year? Say what?!

Also, if you are proposing a trade for somebody, you should try and get the name right - Hayward, not Haywood.

Not to be super-rude, but I think it's time to get back to the drawing board on a trade idea that doesn't absolutely screw us.

As for Crowder (and this goes for everybody, not just the OP), Ainge is not trading Crowder unless he gets a monster return. Regardless of what you think of him as a player, his contract is just way too valuable moving forward.

If Nets keep losing games next year, 2018 pick will be as good as a top 10 pick this year - if not better. Imagine you get 8th pick this year in return for what could be a 1st pick in 2018. It is possible. Plus sending Brown... It is a very bad trade for Celtics.

Why would a free agent that wants to win sign with a team that thinks filling out their rotation with 4-5 rookies is a good idea. This team needs more proven veteran stars not more 19 year old rookies. Hate everything about this idea and my guess is Ainge does too

If Danny was willing to give up Brown, Smart, Crowder, three #2s and the 2018 Nets pick, my guess is that a trade would have already happened.

Pretty much. Not sure who he could have landed for that package that he would have wanted(obviously he didn't want Cousins), but its pretty obvious he didn't want to move Brown, Crowder or Smart or the Nets 17 pick.

I agree with you. Not convinced Ainge does, however.

Guys ok so you didn't like my trade idea. However think about this. No young team has EVER won a title and it takes these young guys 3-4 years to really prosper. We can't keep getting younger and younger...at some point we have to cash in for a vet superstar.

Also look at Philly, you can't sign all these guys when their rookie deals expire.

If we take the 17th & 18th pick, do not plan on winning a title any time soon. I'm just saying.

And that's why IT and Horford is here. You need a balance of young guys and vets to win it all. Trading Brown right now when he is just tapping the surface of his potential for a pick in a normal/weak draft is downright stupid.
