Terrence Jones after strong play from the bench leads to a larger role and a breakout 2017 playoff series where he starts with Horford and puts up 17 and 9 on 52% 38% 84%.

That or Javalle McGee after he prices himself out of Golden State.

Can we get Jones?

He was just waived and passed through waivers unclaimed and -someone please correct me if I'm off base- we can sign him at around $2 or 3 million with our Room Exemption.

I was only half joking about Terrence Jones coming in and finding a spot. I think he's a [darn] good player. This was a game against the Cavs he had about a month back starting for an injured Anthony Davis.

All for bringing him in, wanted us to draft him the year we got Sullinger but he went 3 spots earlier to Houston.

Taj Gibson will be a FA.

I think Danny will be looking to sign or trade for one big free agent in the off season and then add Yabusele and Zizic.

He doesn't shoot the three.

Ideally, I'd like to see an athletic, rim-running, defensive type big.  A Gobert/Howard/Jordan/Drummond/Whiteside type.

I do not believe a player like that would compromise our offensive spacing next to Horford.  I just don't know who will actually be available that fits the bill.  And it seems that the C's brain trust doesn't see it that way, and prefers only perimeter type bigs, so I doubt we'll be getting a player like that.

I fully expect the C's to double down on small ball.

With a lot of talent on the team, draft picks, and money to spend, Danny should be able to find a very good veteran in the off season. I just hope we get Fultz or Jackson in the draft.

... might be the best fit out there for Boston. A multi-skilled big you can run offense through, a triple threat who can shoot, drive, and make a play. And, oh yes, an answer to the defensive rebounding crisis.

I'm just worried about how Horford and Griffin would end up defensively.

If we could pull off a PG13 trade, and kept Smart. A five of IT, Smart, George, Griffin and Horford is good enough to beat the Cavs, and definitely give the GSW a fight.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Kelly Olynyk is honestly the best option for us.
He will be starting eventually.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
