Hi guys!

Maybe we have the possibility to get another player who is bought out by a team, for example Bogut or T. Jones. Who would be the player sacrifized to make room for him? (Supossing we can get one, and only one, of them):

Gerald Green: A guy with a low contract, expiring, seems injured now. But he is an offensive weapon off the bench.

Demetrius Jackson: He has proved nothing in limited opportunities, little money guaranteed. But he can be a good, cheap backup.

Jordan Mickey: Haven't shown enough to crack our rotation, limited size. Also, cost-controlled two more years, could have playing time next season.

James Young: Expiring, cheap to get rid of. But he has stepped up as a decent backup and now is playing significant minutes every game.

Tyler Zeller: Expiring if we want, soft, has wasted his chances. However, our only legit seven footer (Kelly plays outside) and could be his option chosen to match salaries in a trade.

Taking all the positives and negatives of them into account, who would you take away? Why?

I would go with Jackson or Young. Young, however, seems to have figured it out lately.

If we get Jones id go Mickey. We have Zizic and Yab coming over next year so Mickey probably gets squeezed out anyway. Even if yab does stay in the d league all next year, Mickey will still get pushed out.

Jordan Mickey.

Jackson has a small guarantee on his contract next season, and owing that $650k instead of being able to trade it away this summer could determine whether we have max free agent room, so it can't be Jackson.

Young has shown himself to be useful in a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency situation.

Gerald is in the same position as Young.  He has his moments.

Mickey can't get off the bench still in his second year, and his contract his completely unguaranteed for next season, so he's easy to release without any future ramifications.  He's not going to be on the team next year regardless.

Based on this explanation I change my vote to Mickey. I originally voted Jackson.

Last year, there were posts on this blog suggesting our playoff run would be saved if Stevens was just smart enough to play Mickey.

Now, y'all want to waive him.

What a precipitous fall for The Legend of Jordan Mickey.

Next up: The Legend of Ante Zizic.

I HOPE that we sign BOTH Bogut and Jones (or Sully).  We need interior D and rebounding.  then it would be cutting Jackson, Mickey, or Young.  Most likely Jax and Mickey.

I'd rank the likely suspects as:
1. Mickey
2. Young
3. Jackson

so so so true!

I am certain that Zizic will be better (much better) than Mickey but waiting for him like he is the second coming of Divac is ridiculous.....

if only it was as easy as just looking at stats

I'd think DA doubles down and doesn't sign anyone.

You are probably right. Why would he just waive one of our valuable assets.

It would come down to Young, Mickey and Jackson.  I don't see any of them contributing in the playoffs.  I went with Young because he'll be a free agent.  I can't see him re-signing with us even if we make a comparable offer.  He'll go to a team like the Nets or Sixers where he'll have a chance to get more playing time.

Jackson or Mickey.

Keep Young. Young is valuable for wing depth. The other two have not shown themselves capable of stepping and giving the team a steady 10-15 minutes if needed. Young has.

If we get Bogut I'd cut Zeller.  If we get Jones I'd cut Mickey
