Older three.....IT, Horford, Mr X

Younger 4 ....Smart, Jaylen, Fultz/Ball, top 2 pick

Every team in the league wishes they can have that.

Could you imagine if the T Wolves had IT, Horford, Mr X   ANNNNND Towns, Wiggings, Jaylen, and Smart

That's what's going on here.

Oh, but we're not done.  Rozier. Zizic, Yab. Various other 2nds and firsts.

Waiting. That is the only thing between now and that.

TP.

We're playing cribbage and we're holding 24,we know there's a 5/6 in our crib, a 4 has been cut and our opponent is holding all face cards. Somehow people are whining because we don't know the two down cards in our crib.

And if you don't get that, learn to play cribbage.  :)
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

excellent post.  I'm tired of the "big 3" argument and how people use it to give away a ton of assets for Butler or George.  As if the fact that our team would then consist of IT, George/Butler, and Horford would magically, by virtue of being a tri-fecta of all star types, be enough to approach title contention.  No where even close!  Many of the trade ideas I saw the last few days were how-to-get-poor-quick trades. And George probably wouldn't have even re-signed.

IT, great as he is, is not on the level of KG or PP in total impact.  Horford neither.  Time to entertain new formulas.  It could be (depending on trades) a gargantuan 2, a big 3, a largish 4, an impressive 5, a dang talented 6 or a surprising 7.  Based on where the Celtics are at right now I'd guess it'll be an impressive 5 plus key extras.

Eja, you are on a roll. I believe Danny and Brad have sat down and pondered how would it be to be able to field two starting teams on your roster. They salivate for the day that will come.

STARTING FIVE               STARTING FIVE/BENCH      EXTRAS

IT                                   FULTZ                               ROZIER

SMART                            BRADLEY                           NADER

JAYLEN                           CROWDER

HORFORD                       OLYNYK

MR. X                             ZIZIC

TP.  There is a tendency to think the Big 3 is the only way to win, but lots of paths to greatness.
