I think Ainge was willing to do the Cousins deal, but Brad didn't want him. Whether that's true or not may never be known. But that was one that coulda been had. The other two players seemed too pricey, especially when they weren't positions of need.
For all those who do not trust Ainge: do you think it's common for a team to go from first round exit with old, declining stars to a brand new 50+ win squad complete with all-NBAers, all-stars, all-defensers, top draft picks, etc. with a well respected coach all within 3-4 seasons?
What he has done in a short time may not be unprecedented, but it's certainly rare to see a GM completely turn the roster over and have so many assets. If he wasn't ready to cash some in, I have to believe there wasn't a good enough offer.
