The results of the draft lottery are now huge. We absolutely need to get the first pick. If that happens, I would assume we'll have a lot more potential trade options. From the perspective of other teams, I can understand why not knowing where that pick will fall may have decreased our leverage a bit.

I'm interested to hear Danny's take on all of this. On the bright side, we still retained all of our assets, which are much better than anyone else's in the league. But were there more minor deals to be had that would've improved us in the short term while still retaining all key assets?

Lastly, like others have said, there's no way Chicago and Indy were serious about dealing Butler or George if they were asking for that much, as they never would've gotten it.

Ainge using all the 'classical' lines:

A lot of rumors that were true. A lot of rumors that weren't true.

Nothing that was good enough to do.

Same team that we've had since training camp, and a team that's finally close to getting 100-percent healthy.

Wonder if he has them written down somewhere.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Welcome back, LB - you must have been bursting at the seams to comment and I totally agree with you - TP.

I am sure Bogut will be available, but not so sure he would help us that much. I don't think he is better than Amir and with Horford, KO, and Amir (along with some JJ) getting basically all of the big man minutes, I don't see how he makes a major impact on our club. I am happy to keep rolling along with our current team and hopefully we will have a healthy roster come playoff time.

It's gotta be a top-2 pick at this point.

We'll be fine. Teams want our entire core and assets for their failed experiments with their supposed #1 player. The thirst is just too real, that it's bound to go to our heads as fans when nothing materializes after all the hoopla.

Waits for Danny's excuse as to why we didn't try to get an upgrade

Disappointing day. Absolutely should have addressed rebounding. No excuse really.

Yeah, because it would have been awesome to trade Brown, AB, Smart, and the '17 pick for a possible one year rental.  ::)

So glad we have Ainge running things - trade deadline fever can really get to some.

Drummond was the guy I was hoping for.
But I am certainly okay with no move being made.

Yeah Im hopeful we can still land Drummond at some point. We simply are nowhere near strong enough up front to seriously compete for a title..

If the pick is not top 3 and they don't get one Fultz, Jackson or Ball...then it is another letdown.

I wonder if Wyc wishes he never promised fireworks.
