I'd like to see George in Boston, but wouldn't break the bank for him. I would also enjoy seeing the Lakers wildly overpay for him. If Larry is clearing roster space, couldn't it be to take in a haul from the Lakers, as opposed to a player or two from Boston plus draft picks?

Denver today made a "monster" offer to Indiana for Paul George, league sources tell @ChrisBHaynes and me, but the talks gained no traction.

Sources: Pacers asking for 3 of 4 from group of Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown + 2017 Nets pick for Paul George.

Assuming that's accurate (who knows) that's more than I'd pay too. I'd be reluctant to give two out of the 4.  Three's both an overpay and largely defeats the purpose of getting George (putting a contending roster together ASAP)

I'd consider Crowder, Bradley, and the pick.

Lol okay, Bird. Have fun with George walking next summer for nothing!

Seriously, though, they might've asked for that starting off, but there's no way talks went anywhere if he didn't come down from that. He's necessarily came down, otherwise Danny still wouldn't be talking to him.

If you can't get George or Butler...don't even make a deal. Save the picks for the draft. PJ Tucker, Bogut would not get them past the Cavs

Agreed.  If the price is a 2nd rounder or something, then that's OK.  We probably end up giving those picks away on draft day anyway.

But most likely, nothing short of acquiring another All-Star without giving up major rotation pieces is going to get this team past CLE.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I thought that 2 of the 4 was a minimum that Bird would want back.  Asking for 3 is going to be a non-starter.
