I can't imagine DA really thought he could pull this off without one BR pick

I love that he tried.
I don't imagine that giving other managers insultingly lowball offers is good for business, but to each their own.

I'd rather trade Smart and keep Brooklyn pick.

I would offer Indy:

BK 17 pick
Memphis 2019 pick

Zeller or Amir expiring contract

Bradley or Rozier

Would not include Crowder is at all possible

I'm OK with the Brooklyn pick going, especially if it means keeping Brown and Smart.  Pretty much anyone else I'm OK with including (obviously excluding IT and Horford, who aren't being traded).

That is where I am.  (don't want to include both AB and Crowder, but one of them, sure)

Well, it's worked in the past several times so...

If another GM doesn't do business with you because he's insulted, he's not doing his job, which is not good for business.

Suns wanting a high first round pick for PJ Tucker has to be a joke.

There are plenty of pro sports GMs doing their jobs poorly. Ultimately, though, you care about being able to get the players you want, so alienating your potential trading partners is never good.

I agree that it's unnecessary and would usually be insulting, but I can;t see Bird having a problem with it. Maybe if some random GM had done it, but he knows Danny
I'm bitter.

Exactly. If it's a bad deal, he'll keep talking until he gets a good deal. He won't cry because you insulted his player and then refuse to deal with you. That's imaginary stuff. Worst case is he speeds up the process by telling you to only call back with the offer he's looking for.

Still think the PG talk is just talk in order to get the Bulls to panic and cheapen the asking price for butler

I think Ainge will take either of them if the price comes down.  First one to drop wins.

I wonder if Ainge got permission to talk to George about signing in Boston long term before offering up the Nets pick, or is he going in blind with the risk George bolts to the Lakers later on.

Here comes the desperation to get something done and overpayment because of it which is nothing new when it comes to Danny Ainge.  Yea, the man is a real genius  ::)

Cousins
Noel
Melo
Ibaka

What a joke Danny is...

When did he overpay?   Or are we talking about the other teams?
