Not if we don't do something about the defense and second-chance points.

Not at all confident.  The Wizards are really good if they are healthy.  Unfortunately, unless the C's can swing a deal for a guy like Butler or George without giving up much of their current rotation, they can't really do anything this trade deadline to make me much more confident.  The Wizards are really good.

If the Wizards enters the 2nd round fully healthy, I'd be really worried. They are longer than us on every position, their biggest weakness is their bench, but now that's got better with Bogdanovic. Also I worry Johnson/Olynky can't contain Morris at 4.

I think in terms of matchup, we don't have any advantage at all, we have to get home court advantage and out play them to win.

Simmons always harks on this, but who is IT4 gonna guard?

John Wall, allstar
Bradley Beal, snubbed allstar
Otto Porter, most efficient scorer on the team.

You just have to run pick'n'roll with any combo of those 3 and he's toast.

We will struggle to defend their two big guards and they will struggle to defend the IT-Horford spread pick-and-roll (just like everyone else.)  It's not a great matchup but I think we have a better than 50% chance.

They are well armed to exploit some of our defensive weakness. We need to be healthy... more so than at anytime this year.

They have size, and length too.

It won't be a cakewalk.

Washington is bigger and stronger than us.
I would bet on them, if I had to bet.
But Brad may be able to pull a rabbit out of his hat.

I do not expect the Wizards to be the 3 seed.  They have a really rough schedule the rest of the way (they've had the easiest so far, which is one reason they own their current position in the standings.)  They could easily fall to the 5 seed.

It would be nice to play them healthy, for once.  Haven't come close to doing that yet.

They are not consistent. You can expect the worse or the best from them.
Let see how they handle their last 27 games and how we play together with AB before we talk.

dont know how you came to that conclusion, yeah they started out the season rough, but since December theyve been one of the best teams in the NBA, with the best home record I believe.  Nothing about that screams inconsistency

We beat them if we're fully healthy, but we haven't played them anywhere close to healthy yet. Let's not forget that we swept them last year.

This is a good point.

17 of their remaining 27 are on the road. At Toronto, Boston, Cleveland, Clippers, Jazz, Golden State. Home games against GS, Toronto and Utah. There's no break longer than 1 day in the schedule and 6 different back-to-backs. It's a fairly brutal schedule and much of it is on the road.

Compare that with Boston's remaining schedule. 13 games at home, 12 on the road. Tough games include @ Toronto, LAC and GS. Home against Cleveland (twice) and Washington. 1 back-to-back game.

In short, if Washington passes us for #2 in the East then they earned it and more power to them.  It's far more likely they'll fall to #4 or #5 because they have a truly brutal stretch coming up.
