CHI gets:

2017 BKN pick
Avery Bradley
Guerschon Tabusele
Amir Johnson
Jonas Jerebko
2018 BOS pick (unprotected)

BOS gets:
Jimmy Butler
Nikola Mirotic

Fair trade?

Mirotic is a free agent after this season but is a deadly 3 point threat. He may be inconsistent but he is a respected 3 point shooter around the league and could play big for us

I'm a fan of Jimmy Butler but that package is just too much. Fair chance you end up with a better team by just waiting and drafting Fultz/Ball/Jackson/Taytum on a rookie deal and signing a free agent to the money you would have given Jimmy/Niko.

That trade also makes our rebounding even worse, which I didn't think was possible considering how bad it is already. Bradley, Jerebko, Amir are probably 3 of our best guys at boxing out their opponent.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

There's no D in Mirotic.

I am a fan. Mirotic is a starter in this league. I hope he leaves Chicago and goes somewhere that actually appreciates and utilizes his game.

Would rather have Gibson along with Butler especially since you're trading 2 of our current bigs away.  Mirotic has not been good this year.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Mirotic is terrible. Would rather keep Jerebko.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I don't want to give up 2 lottery picks for Butler, not worth it IMO. I'm fine with taking Mirotic.

He shoots 29.9℅ from 3, I wouldn't really call him a deadly 3 point shooter, unless you mean he's shooting his team to death. For reference, Smart shoots 30.9℅.
