If the Celtics just made a trade, which of the following should they definitely not trade?

Marcus Smart
Kelly Olynyk
Amir Johnson
Avery Bradley
Al Horford
Jaylen Brown
I wouldn't miss any of them....

I could have added or deleted names. Just thought these players might bring in the most for a major trade. I purposely left Isaiah off the list so as not to skew the results.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
My favorite Celtics go in order from
Smart
Crowder
IT
Bradley

If any of them get traded, I would be deeply hurt.

Unless we're getting PG13 and Drummond in return.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley in that order.

I think Avery is the odd man out in a trade. I think Jae is also likely to move.

I think Jaylen + BKN 17 gets you a top 10 player.

Al Horford, of course, because if we trade him right now then we can kiss goodbye to any chance of ever signing a major free agent again (not to mention that he's our second best player right now).

But since that  is the obvious choice and seems like it shouldn't be on there if Isaiah isn't, I'll go with Smart.  I don't want to see him tearing Isaiah (or Fultz?) apart a few years from now
I'm bitter.

I will be happy if we can get through the deadline without trading any of these, in order of preference:

Smart, IT, Brk 17 1st, Horford, Brown, Zizic.

I'll be bummed for a few minutes but get it if we have to trade either Crowder, Bradley, or the Brk 18 1st
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

Avery Bradley.  He's the lone holdover from the 21st century big 3 era.  Been fun watching him grow up here the last 7 years.

I think the attitude and culture of the team, not to mention the experience of watching them play, would change a great deal if they traded Smart.

Says a lot about his impact and importance, even as a young player mostly coming off the bench.

Exactly on Horford.

Not a solitary one of them.

I am a fan of the jersey. Players come and go.

Cold blooded. While I disagree with your sentiments, I agree with the result. If a move made by Ainge led us to 18, then I don't really care who the players let out the door would be. Some would make me wince more than others, but 18 and 19 and 20 and etc are what matters.

These are the Celtics, let other teams have their star players that put up nutty stats. I will take the banners.

No one who's spent five minutes in the coaching business has "favorite players." One of the biggest no-nos there is.

ALL of them.

This team - as is - is special. Some of the best chemistry I've seen in Green.

I don't blame the alleged hesitancy of bringing in DeMarcus on Coach Stevens or Danny - Chemistry is HUGE.

Whomever we bring in here - "IF" we do make changes - needs to FIT....add to the team, not subtract from it.

I believe that Danny has learned his lessons well from the Perk Trade about Chemistry and this bodes well for us with any potential deals I think.
