I don't think DA will trade for Bogut. Mavs will ask for a second round pick next to an expiring contract. Most of us would agree to that price to get a rebounder, but DA will not. Unless he wins a trade he doesn't make it. Probably Young+second round pick is enough but i think it won't happen

EDIT: Assuming we have cap space to absorb his salary

Young may not even need to be part of the equation. We have two very late 2nd round picks (in addition to the Minny 2nd) that I have to imagine are up for grabs in any deal for a rebounder. We already have Zizic and Yab coming in next year - we don't exactly need two additional players taken at 50-something in the draft.

The player will need to be better than Amir, though, and I am not so sure Bogut fits that description.

I don't want to hear any "Danny is not doing anything" BS. He's actively seeking additional help, just not a steep price like Boogie was.

To be fair...Boogie wasnt a particularly steep price in the end haha.

Considering Boston, yes he was. Divac asked far more from Boston in return than from Pelicans.
What was Divac asking and what was Danny willing to give?

Two parts to this;

1) The are reported to have been asking for Brown, Nets pick and Smart

2) The owner, Ranadive, is extremely high on Hield. To the point where he considered him the best asset available, above the Brk 17 pick

Crazy I know.... So whilst it sounds like we weren't seriously engaging in talks anyway, the price was looking steeper than it should have done.

You're header is wrong and misleading.  From your link, here's the quote...

"NBA source tells me #Celtics & #Mavs expect to talk Bogut trade - dependent on what bigger move Boston can make."

They aren't talking right now...

Yeah that's what I meant. My bad.

But I'd be surprised if they haven't talked still. Ainge has a bunch of plans I hope.

Looks like Bogut is last resort. Butler first, then Drummond? Bogut also figures in if they get Butler.

Assuming nothing big happens, I'd be disappointed if we didn't do something like Mickey and a 2nd for Bogut at the deadline.
