That answers everything.

Sorry guys, a lot of people speculate, debate a lot about Cousins for the last 5 years.
At the end just to learn that Danny never wanted Cousins, never offer or even talk with Sac.
Hahaha, that's priceless.

And Danny did his due diligence by studying Cousins case for many years, asking everybody that approach him how he is on the court.
Well done Danny!

"Agents for other Kings players had even reached out to teams hoping to find new homes for their clients, primarily citing the difficulties that came from playing with Cousins."

Wow...that's bad.

I've said it before, but having been to many Kings games over the last several years, it is hard to convey just how negative Cousins' demeanor is, without seeing it in person. I've never seen a star player with such a negative vibe in terms of how he approaches other players on his team.

It's like he operates in this little bubble of negative energy. No one approaches him during breaks in play, to talk strategy or just pal around. When he walks off the court he isn't greeted by guys on the bench. He walks straight to his seat and covers up with a towel. His facial and body language on the court, during breaks in play, constantly express dissatisfaction, in a really juvenile way. It's palpable.

Kobe might have been that way at his low point, but I never saw the Lakers play in person. I can't think of another superstar player with a similarly poisonous effect.

Maybe we will see the flip side over the next few days, players and former coaches standing up for him and telling a different story. But so far that hasn't happened.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
That explains why despite years of rampant speculation we never got even a hint of "smoke" from any kind of reliable source.

"Agents for other Kings players had even reached out to teams hoping to find new homes for their clients, primarily citing the difficulties that came from playing with Cousins."

That's really bad. Players wanting to flee a team because of one specific teammate is pretty rare, and the Kings don't exactly have a ton of players who'd have a lot of options in other teams' rotations.

The biggest message of the last 24 hours is that Cousins earned a reputation across much of the league as a completely toxic individual, to a degree that outweighed his considerable talent. Whether that reputation will prove deserved after his change of scenery remains to be seen, but his trade value was obviously far lower than fans thought because of this perception.

Privately, Celtics executives had found humor in the media’s incessant mention of Cousins as a possible trade target in recent seasons, all along knowing there was no interest on their end.

Thought this was hilarious. The Celtics front office must have been laughing their asses off reading Celticsblog the last few years.

Actually, every poster here is a member of the Celtics' front office except you, saltlover (who despite trying to deny it we all know is really Larry Coon), and a few posters that are bots.
I'm bitter.

Just another case of people attaching to whatever information underscores their skewed thinking in order to make them feel better.  I'd guess these same folks believe everything Trump says too. Yup, which is exactly what you are doing. Nowhere in that article does IT admit to recruiting DMC. Nowhere does he say he wants DMC here. He said it would be good if DMC were here but that isn't saying he wants him here. IT then goes on to say how he dealt with Cousins on the court and that Cousins respected him. That's it.

My guess is IT was asked if it would be great to have Cousins traded to Boston and gave a politically correct answer and then danced around the subject by discussing how he got along with him on the floor and how DMC felt about him. Let's remember, when IT left Sactown, he and Cousins weren't on best of terms. They made up later but there was heat between them for a while.
