The Celtics have reportedly expressed "deep interest" in P.J. Tucker.

Tucker would add some solid depth to the Celtics, but his playing time would take a substantial hit in Boston, so Tucker owners should be hoping that he remains in Phoenix past the deadline. There have been more than a few trade rumors regarding Tucker, though, so him remaining with the Suns is far from a certainty. Feb 19 - 3:06 PM

Does this help us? What would we need to give up for him do you think?

If it is a low cost, yes.  Short term.  Allows Celsius to play big off bench.  (Smart, Brown, Tucker )

A cheap big likely better, but this could help rebounding from sf  position.

Only makes sense if we are moving Crowder, Smart or jaylen in a different deal...

Kind of weird.  I guess he'd take Jaylen's playing time?   Or maybe if Crowder or Bradley are moved?

I imagine he'd cost a low first.

Why?  He would take the Rozier / Green minutes off the bench.

I'll repeat this idea for the third time, since apparently we now have a PJ Tucker thread:

Zeller, Jackson, Minny 2nd for Tucker and Barbosa.

I don't get this. We already have Crowder, Brown, Green, and Young at the wing.

Though I do like his rebound and steal numbers.

Is he a good defender? Maybe Ainge wants some size to guard LeBron and DeRozan?

This. I don't see what Tucker brings to the team that it doesn't already have in abundance.

He's better than Green, Rozier, and Brown right now I guess.  Would rather just let those young guys play for the experience though.

You don't understand what Ainge was talking about. He was clarifying that they're not going to trade key assets like Rozier a rental. A trade for a player like Tucker for the playoff run would not require the same kind of assets as for a player like Ibaka.

It would cost the Celtics a 2nd round pick or two ... not really mortgaging the future or giving up real assets
