http://boston.cbslocal.com/2017/02/17/five-realistic-trade-targets-for-celtics/

The names are Andrew Bogut, Nerlens Noel, Taj Gibson, Kyle O'Quinn, and PJ Tucker.

Thoughts?

How can he say that Terry Rozier would be traded for Kyle O'Quinn when he wasn't traded for Ibaka?

I am shocked by some of these basketball writers sometimes.

Not sure any of those fit into what the C's are doing but a few of them I'm not familiar with so maybe? IMO C's need what I think CBS calls a swing? someone athletic that can score and rebound playing the 3-4, a Paul George type. Also/or a big that can rebound, play good defense and hit outside shots.

Just saying, for those voting Noel, what do you imagine his price to be now?

I certainly doubt it's just Rozier and a late first anymore..

Sign Noel in the off season.
Yeah and draft Fultz. We know. I think you have mentioned a time or two...... or five thousand before.

I see a lot of calls for trading for Hernangomez and just don't understand why anyone thinks Jackson would trade a 22 year old rookie center on a dirt cheap 4 year contract that is showing as much promise as he is in the limited minutes he has been playing. Has there been media rumors that Phil is making him available? Jackson is a lot of things but a complete and utter moron isn't one of them. In today's NBA salary cap world, you hold on to players like Hernangomez for a long time. You don't trade them away after 2/3 of the first season where they are showing a lot of future potential.

Zeller, Jackson, and the Minny 2nd for Tucker and Barbosa.

Phoenix gets another PG prospect (they seem to collect them), a decent 2nd, and a contract that they should be able to flip in June or July for another 2nd.  Or just keep Zeller as a useful backup center.

We get a 3 and D swing and another bench scorer.

This. To trade for any Hernangómez, you must offer something very appealing. They are almost untouchable by their franchises.

I've always liked KOQ since his rookie year in Orlando.  very underrated hustle guy. not a center but rebounds and plays solid D.  I think a first may be a bit high of a price for him.

always figured Noel would leave the sinking ship that is Philly.  may not be as likely to happen now but Danny may still be able to get him when he becomes a FA (provided Noel just goes for his QO to get out of Philly)

Willie Cauley-Stein from Kings.
WCS should be a target. Rozier + Young + Minnesota 2nd pick

I chose 'other'. I think the best prospects for our situation are on the Sacramento Kings.

The home run would be DMC, but this looks doubtful. WCS is also a possibility and could come in and potentially be our starting C... I would do Rozier and our 2018 1st for that deal. At the very least I would do two 2nd round picks for Skal, he's the same build as Noel with a higher upside... even though he also has a much lower floor. Could develop into our starting C by next season. Nothing really lost to take a flier on potential... much rather this than say a Larry Sanders

Kosta Koufos could be had from Sac. I like the Booker move and getting bogut also. Young and Zeller and some picks. Booker helps NJ suck next year too.

I went Bogut solely because he cost the least. I'd be happy making no moves tbh. This is a building season, we aren't ready to compete with Cle and GS so let's not make any rash moves

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Kyle Oquinn is straight hot flaming garbage.

Terrible player.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I picked Noel but it depends on what the cost is and where they are with their contracts.

Nerlens is having an all star-caliber season. I'd offer Rozier + Olynyk + Bos '18 for him, then happily max him this offseason. He's the solution to all our defensive woes.
