Let's say this summer, the Cs win the Draft Lottery. They know they're getting the #1 pick, they're not trading it, and they're gonna take Fultz.

Meanwhile, the Suns complete no major deal by next week, then get the #3 pick in the 2017 Draft. One of Jackson or Isaac (or either) is gonna be available to them. But Sarver's getting impatient. He wants to win soon. And he's frustrated Ryan McD dumped IT last year.

So pre-draft, the Suns offer the Cs:

Eric Bledsoe (salary / player offload)
Marquese Chriss
The 2017 #3 Pick
A 2018 1st Round pick (Heat or Suns, whichever is higher -- 1st overall pick protected)

for

IT
Horford
Avery Bradley
2017 Wolves 2nd Round Pick

What does Ainge say?

What sense does this make for the Cs at all?

What does this do for either team?

so the C's give up the 3 best players in the deal for what?  the #3 pick and Bledsoe with a rookie?  what's the purpose - make the C's suck for another 7-8 years?

Why?

A lot of fans like youth movements, or as I like to think of it, perpetual rebuilding.

A team built around IT, Smart and Fultz doesn't make much sense, in a variety of ways. And the Cs are going to have to give IT the max, if they intend to keep him.

Horford obviously fits a team designed to win over the next couple of years.

I know this would be panned, but raised it anyway. Because the easy answer is no, but the Nets picks do pose an interesting dilemma.

Which team is going to win more titles? A team built around IT, Horford, Bradley, and Crowder, with Brown, Fultz, Smart, and others filling in the seams?

Or a team built around Fultz, Smart, Rozier, Jackson, Brown, Chriss, Olynyk, and two top 5 picks in next years draft? That's a pretty compelling core. How to pay those kids altogether at the ends of their respective rookie deals would present a problem, of course.

It's obviously unlikely -- with PHX, or anyone else. Just thought I'd raise a larger conceptual idea that's NOT tied to Jimmy Butler, Paul George....... or Demarcus Cousins. Thought it could make for slightly more thoughtful debate.
