Say what you want about whether the Celtics should have taken Chicago but they were fighting an uphill battle from the beginning. This was their 6th game, in their 6th city, in 9 days, playing all without their starting SG, who is their second leading scorer. My guess is this team is pretty darn tired right now. That they were in this game and should have won it if not for a horrible call seems like a pretty positive thing to take away from it all

Yup. Same sentiments as usual nick. TP

All I took out of this game is that we are probably going to really struggle with our late game half court offense during the playoffs without a true second option.

Hard to win, when three of our starters scored in single digits.  Horford, Crowder and Marcus shot poorly.

You take a chance when you let the game be close enough for the refs to decide it.  It happens sometimes  folks.

This is why I think Ainge should make a move. I think we are a great team to watch every night but we have our warts.  We got outrebounded by 20, and he needs to get a big.

Our second option is injured. That's not the problem, its the rebounding.

Smart should not have lingered on the court - he needs to avoid anything that will damage or perpetuate the perception that NBA refs seem to hold on him. Bad move by a great player.

This is why I think Ainge should make a move.

I don't think the context of this game is evidence of why the Cs should make a move right now. Any move should be on the basis of getting closer to winning a title, and most of the conditions of this game are not particularly reflective of that.

We got outrebounded by 20, and he needs to get a big.

2008 team was a sub-par rebounding team too. Yes, it'd be good to improve this area, but a knee jerk trade for a rebounder who rings not much else would be a waste.

The 08 team was an average rebounding team (12th in RPG) but they were 3rd in rebounding margin.. In comparison, this year's team is 28th in RPG and 26th in differential.. I agree with you though, a move for just a rebounder wouldn't make much sense.

I know they're worse this year than 2008. But we're still a worse team than that team, obviously. We're saying the same thing, I think -- we're not one move away. Adding PJ Brown isn't going to get us over the hump. We still need star players on this team, and meaningful assets shouldn't be wasted on marginally players.

Exhibit A: Passing on Serge Ibaka was 100% the right move.

I agree with that a Rebounding Big would greatly help but we cannot afford a knee jerk reaction trade that hurts us in the long run.

As weird as this seems typing, The thing to remember is we have been without our best rebounder;Avery Bradley. He leads the team with 6.9, Horford 2nd with 6.6.

The call at the end was the worst I've seen in a long time. Can't remember a worse one off the top of my head.

Second leading scorer and leading rebounder, AB is.

Wow, didn't realize it was their 6th city in 9 days.

Crowder has played poorly in this road trip (at least in the games he played)

For those who would like another look at the Phantom Foul frame by frame. Also watch the ref on the baseline who made the call watch the ball all the way until it bricks and then calls the foul. Also for what it's worth the spread was -1 celtics
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden
