I'm sure Danny makes his bi-annual phone calls about AD and other top players too, just to check the temperature and value of players.
You never know what players think. Some should be traded but don't leave (Cousins). Some should stay but leave (Durant).
I'm all for George. He'll be a hell of an upgrade for us. Specially during Playoff, this guy is a beast.

AD is a player that you give both Brooklyn picks and Jaylen for.

This.   ^

Melo....he is worth Junk trade to Celtics , terrible contract for a worn out non defense playing Dino
I'm predicting Phil just practally gives him away .....just be rid of his overpaid carcass.  Might even pull a Josh Smith Pistons deal ...LOL...   Danny can pick him up after he is waved for a bag of nuts.

I don't see why Anthony would necessarily preclude George or Butler.

I mean if you can get Anthony for something Amir, Zeller, Young, plus some future 1st (like Boston 2019).  You could then acquire George or Butler with Crowder, Brown, Jerekbo, and one of the BKN picks (and other 1st's as required).  Other players in both tradess added in coming to Boston to help fill out the roster

So trade with Indy for George
Crowder, Brown, Jerekbo, BOS 17, BOS 18 for George, Seraphin

So trade with NY for Anthony
Johnson, Zeller, Young, BOS 19 for Anthony, Plumlee, Vujacic

So post-trades (1 open roster spot and still having BKN 18, MEM, LAC picks)

PG - Thomas, Rozier, Jackson
SG - Bradley, Smart, Vujacic
SF - George, Green
PF - Anthony, Olynyk, Mickey
C - Horford, Seraphin, Plumlee

We wouldn't ever be able to get a rebound, but man we could score the ball. Also with adding George we would be even deadlier defensively.

I just think we would need a 1st big off the bench that is great at rebounding so that we can slide him in for Anthony when other teams start to feast on us.
offense is not the problem for the celtics. they rank in the top 6 to 7 teams in terms of offensive efficiency. anthony does not address a real problem should either butler or george be on the team.

AB, Amir,Filler, Nets 17 , Mem  19 , a bunch of 2nds

Chi sends: Butler and Taj

IT.           Rozier
Butler       Smart
Crowder   Jaylen
KO              Taj
Horford      vet buyout

Taj would really help our of defense as either a starter or off the bench.

Someone said the following on Twitter.  I think it's spot on:

The fact that Boston's interest in Butler and George was buried in another story probably shows the actual traction.

Are biggest weakness is big men, we need a rebounding stud next to Horford. Of course both players mentioned could make us better depending on what we have to give up. But we still would be missing a big man.

Thanks Randy and ILS (Tommy Points), so the Stepien Rule doesn't specify that the mantained 1st round pick must be yours, but anyone which is unprotected. Then Moranis trade is possible and interesting. However, I don't think we can keep Olynyk adding so much salary even with his Bird rights.

I ultimately don't think I'd do it, as a team with IT, PG and Carmelo would need three balls in offense and two of them are bad in defense.

I don't see why Indy would make George available. Butler though, I think is a possible prospect.

Danny is just probably window shopping to see how much they would cost.

I guess you forgot to put Fultz or Ball in the rotation

BOS 17 is technically BRK 17.

Then the price for George is too big and DA will never do that trade and pay that much

This.

Just for kicks, PG13 had 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in 38 minutes.

Pacers lost to the Cavaliers 132-117.

Is PG13 "really" a guy who can push us into legitimate contention going forward?

Yes.

I truthfully don't see it, same with Butler.

Now if you add either + a big like Ibaka, Millsap, or Noel somehow, then yes.

George is a 6'9 SF who can play 2-4, is an All-NBA defender with range on his jump shot and an ability to impose his will on a game. This a top 10 level talent we're talking about, a guy who brought a mediocre Pacers team to the brink of finals appearances. He's exactly the perfect guy we need to match up against LeBron. Having him, IT, Horford with a lot of our regulars left is a legit threat to Cleveland.

If PG isn't good enough to cash in the assets for, nobody short of Anthony Davis is.

I'm not giving up the Nets '17 pick for a wing. I'll give it up for DMC or AD or someone like that.

The '18 pick, maybe. Depends what else. I won't give Brown with it or one of our top 6 players.
