I think if Pierce would ask to go to Boston in the deadline, Doc would trade him. I think it would be on DA to pull the trigger to get Paul. Something like Green and Young for him would work.

From a money making standpoint, Celtics front office might not want to approach this until after Sunday's game.

My prediction: Talks will start will Doc when he gets to Boston and something like Green and Young, as mentioned above, will get done.

This would be a purely sentimental and symbolic move.   Basketball wise it does not make sense, folks.   I thought PP would sign a one day contract to retire as a C.   Still gets the same thing accomplished without the heart driven illogical move.

Maybe this is the way we can facilitate Melo to LAC. We get someone like Speights, Hernangomez, or O'Quinn along with Pierce. Pierce gives us the veteran leadership in the playoffs and hopefully some quality backup minutes alongside a scorer like IT (when he plays with the second unit) and one one of those bigs to address our rebounding.

What would we be willing to give up? Zeller for salary? What pick? Rozier? Olynyk?
