Don't forget, we need cap space to sign IT and/or AB.  Their team-friendly contracts ex[ire next year.

Respectfully, this could have gone in the other, very active, thread about Vucevic.

EDIT: Especially since the only source for this article is the Blakely rumor.  Seriously...  ::)

Furthermore, this is yet another report of Sherrod's "report."

Well, that's not entirely true. We need cap space to extend them this offseason, not to resign them in two years.

I can't live with it at all. How is it expiring next year?

 Knicks
$24,559,380   16-17
$26,243,760   17-18
$27,928,140   18-19 (player option)

You think he will opt out of his $28 mill next year and his no trade clause because he will make more somewhere else at what age 35???

PASS! PASS! PASS! We don't want him!!

Yes, he's most likely got at least one more season of scoring 20 a night in him, and with the over-36 rule being changed to the over-38 rule specifically for cases like his, there's a pretty good shot he's better off opting out after next year and locking in his last big contract at age 34 than he is playing out that final year and hitting free agency at 35 on the heels of what will likely be a worse season, unless he likes where he's at and his team likes him and the two sides negotiate an extension. Barring injury, Carmelo Anthony is most likely an expiring contract six months from now.

Don't see it, 6 pages back. Plus there is reference to Orlando roundtable discussion in this article, which just came out. Seriously.

It is seriously the thread immediately below this one (as I type) under latest forum topics.

It's also the top thread in the trade ideas and rumors subforum, which is where your post belongs.

While I'd welcome a trade, id be surprised if DA makes a move this season. I think he'll wait until the offseason, talk to some FA's (the major ones will likely stay) and assess whether he wants to trade Rozier for a guy like Vucevic, sign Noel to a huge multi-year deal, or do some other Amir-like short term signing.

He must be delusional then if he thinks any team wants to lock him up for several years after next year at a ridiculous contract for a "me- first" player. I don't see it.

Signing him prevents the Cs from adding a max free agents and doesn't make the team better than Cleveland, GS or Spurs. No, then.

And who, pray tell, would that free agent be?

Kevin Durant ain't walking through that door.

Saving cap space to chase ghosts is stupid.

I just read this on an Orlando site but have no idea of it's credibility:

Our Zach Palmer posed a trade with the Celtics that involved Vucevic a few days ago in a OrlandoMagicDaily.com round table post.

It sent Vucevic and C.J. Watson to Boston for Amir Johnson, Demetrius Jackson and Guerschon Yabusele. This is the kind of trade to expect if Vucevic gets sent to Boston. An expiring contract and two developmental players that could make an impact down the road.
