He's averaging near a double double (14/10) and is on essentially a bargain contract for the next few years.

But I would honestly not go after him because he eats into cap flexibility heading into the summer.

Unless Ainge has another trade for a STAR lined up, I wouldn't do it because then the C's can't sign a max free agent and then all of a sudden the free agent options this summer aren't great at all (even Noel and Ibaka could get near max or max deals).

I'm also curious what the price could be for Vucevic. What are your thoughts?

Trade for him...there aint no Max FA's that can come here anyway--unless you think KD gonna bolt from GSW...of course this is A.Sherrod----so the Next Celtics Breaking News he gets right--will be his First.

I do to. But would Brad play him? I wonder what the asking price is?

I made a thread a ways back about Vucevic.  I like him as well, and his contract would be a bargain in today's market.

He won't be a force on defense, but he can rebound, has developed a nice jumper, and can pass well.  It would be nice to get a big that can rebound and also has enough offensive range to not clog the paint.

Offensively he'd really help us, but he's an absolutely terrible pairing with Horford defensively. Stretch 4's would absolutely kill us, like they do now, while also taking advantage of Vucevic down low, who always gives up major scores to opposing centers.

I think there's better ways to spend our money/space.

Was going to mention this as my main concern.  Having Vuc would mean that Al would essentially be playing the 4 and guarding the perimeter more.  I have read that he doesn't want to play the 5 but he seems to be a better fit there.  Would love to see more of the Jonas/Al pairing if no trade is made this year.

Vucevic doing well so far. 10/4/2

Ibaka really struggling tonight (he's a potential FA option this summer)

Still stand by my initial thoughts though.

There are two European bigs that CBlog is way down on that I think have potential.  They are Nikola and Lauri Markkanen.  I know we are not going to draft LM, but he is NOT a KO clone.  People are starting to come around to him this week, but I like both of their games.  I think Vucevic could thrive here.  He's got really good offensive instincts and he's a legit 7 footer.

Just thinking out loud, but I wonder if we could get Aaron Gordon?

Could play the 4 with Horford as a 5, and he is athletic as can be, which means he could handle the perimeter defensive duties.  Not sure how he would handle bigger 4's though, but he has so much potential that the thought of Stevens coaching him is really exciting.

Confirmed a few minutes ago by theScore: http://www.thescore.com/news/1218943

He makes a lot of sense at the right price.  He's starting again, puts up points and rebounds in a hurry.  Sieve on defense, but that just means he'll fit in with the rest of 'em.
