not too much real info, but worth posting here.
Im starting to come around to the idea that Jackson/Ball/Fultz all have really good chances to be as good as Butler on their own. Id still send Bradley/Zeller/'17 for Butler but I really like Butler so theres that.
Because, from all signs im seeing, Ainge is a completely unrealistic man living in a fairy land that he's created in his own imagination.
The bit refuses to make any deal that involves giving up anything of value, and as such there's a slim chance of us seeing any deals happen that actually add any players of value.
So tired of this, seriously. Ainge's obsession with draft picks and cap space is doing my head in. I wonder how many deals be turned down last year which could have brought us a player better then the Horford we eventually used that cap space to sign...
Alright, alright, calm down man.
Yes, I'd love to see Ainge make a deal that makes us contenders, and yes, Ainge hasn't drafted well on a few occasions over the year.
But reality is, no one was truly available, and unless you're telling me you would be okay dealing 2016 BKN PICK, 2017 BKN PICK, Smart, Crowder, and 2 more assets (future pick and/or player) for Butler, then yes, Ainge played it smart and didn't make a deal.
I do agree though that Ainge NEEDS to make some big FA signing OR big trade within the next year (between now and next year's trade deadline) for this to work, otherwise we could continue to be "middle of the pack" and not contenders for years to come (also with IT/Bradley/Smart FA coming in 2018).
Also Horford fits this team well. He isn't worth 30M/Year, yes, but honestly not many people are worth their contracts but that's how the market is now. You could even see guys like Noel get close to max deals (even though they CLEARLY aren't worth it).
