Thanks!  Hopefully I stay Tiny Archibald longer than I was Paul Silas (although with trade season coming up and a forthcoming update of Larry Coon's FAQ, probably not.)

No.

Bradley is an important part of this team to trade for yet another young big younger than 21 years old. The Cs have Yabu and Zizac coming next year. There is no need to trade a valuable, established, almost star on a great contract for a 19 year old, mid first round big.

As you are our resident cap expert, I find that to be unlikely.

Many thanks for the detailed reply.

tbh, what I had in mind was bigs that get the same (or less) money than Bradley. So that, assuming we let Kelly walk in the summer, we still have enough cap space to offer a max (or a near max) contract.

Are there any good bigs that fit this scenario?

EDIT: by re-reading your post, I see that it was clearly my mistake for not having explained it clearly from the start. And I see that you already answered that there aren't any ppl worth taking at 8 mill. What is wrong with bigs under rookie contracts then?

If Giles looked better I'd consider it but Giles hasn't been too good. I'd trade Rozier at deadline to highest bidder though as the top of the draft is guard heavy and you dont want to be in a log jam. Clippers, Nuggets, Heat (if they move Dragic), and a few other teams may have need for Rozier.

My list assumes that you're using up all your cap space first and then trade Bradley.  Those are players who's salaries match in a 1-for-1 trade, enabling you to go over the cap.  If you want someone who makes less than Bradley, the list consists of Morris twins, Boban, Branden Wright, Cole Aldrich, Jason Smith, Andrew Nicholson, and guys from the last couple drafts.  But again, if cap dollars are used first, it's not an issue.

I'm so tired.  Prepare for some sort of obviously deranged trade proposal from me trade deadline week.

Trade Bradley for Noel and draft Fultz.
But only if Noel agrees to an extension.

Noel and what other assets? Because as is we are getting robbed in that deal.

At their current values, Bradley is a borderline all star (seriously look at his splits and rebounding numbers) and noel is proving he might be a starter.

That's not how it works.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Yep, I was confused bcs the OP talked about a trade at the draft. A trade after we have used our cap space makes a lot more sense, and there are several guys in your list that I feel excited about.

Yeah, I was offering an alternative this summer to trading for a draft pick.  A lot of draft night trades don't actually get processed until after the July moratorium period anyway, so there wasn't much of a difference in my mind.  Any of those could be agreed to between draft night and July 6th (I think that's when the moratorium ends this year), and the Celtics could commit to using their cap space before the trade is official.

I would trade Avery for Patton.

Not for Giles. Not at this point. I'd need to see more from him between now and the draft.

you are obsessed with Patton

you think he will be that good eh?
