The Lakers are horrible. The Celtics need a PF that can rebound. Randle can do that, he can make plays off the dribble as well, but turns it over too much.

wouldn't that be overpay? and I think the Lakers love Randle unless there's a report somewhere where they say they want to start selling.

I honestly don't feel we need to give up that much for him.

Kelly + Memphis 1st or Boston 1st for Randle I would do
Terry + above first packages I would also do

I would rather keep Olynyk. Randle is a limited player who puts up numbers on a bad team and wouldn't fit our system.

you don't sell young players.  you sell veterans.

I love this when making proposals. Moranis says no way the Lakers do this. My opinion also.

 Next poster says overpay. Classic.

to be fair, i was just looking at "proposed package"

Lakers would say no as they value Randle I believe
Celtics wouldn't overpay for Randle as well.

I don't think we've ever done deals with Lakers, can someone fact check me on this?

But the only deal I see getting done here is Smart for Randle straight up because the Lakers perimeter D is atrocious. Maybe we surrender some picks as well, but Danny's reputation will take a hit if such a trade goes down as it will send the message to the league that he doesn't know what he's doing on draft night.

Don't think Danny would pull the trigger on this.  What if Yabu is better than expected?  Would he give up on Kelly who is supposedly playing quite good team defense?  Plus Roz and a first.  I get that quality beats quantity but I think the main block here for Danny would be Kelly, who while not as good as Randle may be better in Brad's system, followed by an interest in seeing how good Yabs can be.

I am still not convinced Randle is a player.

I like his rebounding, ball-handling, passing and physical gifts.
I do not like his man defense, team defense or shooting ability. Defense & scoring.

Randle still has an awful lot of work to do to be a quality starter in this league. I am not willing to pay the price he'd command in a trade for a player so unproven.

I think the Lakers are looking for a rim protector and from what I've seen from fans, some are willing to part with Randle if it gets them a good enough rim protector.
