was hoping to get Turner in that draft.  would have an interest in getting him using assets other than a Nets pick

I would think this would be a no brainier for the Celtics.  Turner is going to be a big time player for years to come, and I don't see the Pacers giving up a guy who can contribute today (at a high level) for a draft pick two drafts away that may take a year or two to reach tekevel Turner is already at.

I believe the 2018 pick if we keep it has to be used on a Big.  That draft is loaded with big men.  However I think that the center position is hardest to scout, especially giving the direction of the NBA.  We know Turner can play, we hope we can get a guy like that with the pick.  I like Mohamed Bamba, but he's skinny and who knows if he has the mental toughness to make it in the NBA.  While you can say that for any prospect, a position like SG can be scouted better.  I think that's why Danny has had more success with drafting guards.  Fultz may or may not be able to run the point for a contender but I bet he can fill the role of a SG very nicely on a contender.  We can see it easier from the SG position.  When the pick is for a big  I say go with the known commodity.

in a heartbeat but I'd wait until after the lottery is held.

would lean towards no if the Brooklyn Celtics were to win the 2018 lottery

Danny would probably hear Shia LaBoeuf scream in his ears...

This is an easy yes and should be obvious for anyone. But the truth is, Indiana hangs up the phone if the offer for Myles Turner is just the Nets 2018 pick.

I agree. Too many unknowns as to where that pick will land. Will have to add someone like Zizic and/or Crowder to get them interested.

I voted "NO" but I initially thought it was for the 2017 Nets pick. I would trade the 2018 pick for some of the reasons already mentioned. Turner is in his second year and has improved, from last year, in every single category so I'd definitely do it.

I don't really know either way. It kind of feels like Turner is regressing a bit this season, or at least not making a big improvement.

Something isn't right in Indy. Is Paul George not a superstar? Is Turner's defense bad?

Turners numbers look great but something feels off.
I'm confused by this belief.  Turner is playing more minutes, has better per 36 numbers, and is more efficient across the board.   Turner has taken all of the appropriate improvement strides.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think the OP meant trading for Turner NOW, not waiting until next year.

I'd do that easily. Would be excellent for now and the future. He'd provide the interior defense we need, grab rebounds and space the floor perfectly next to Horford. He would also help define our timeline more.

Oh oops, thanks. Yeah I'd do it but the Pacers wouldn't IMO.  :)

Probably. Turner is putting up great stats for a 20 year old, and he fits the team concept. On the other hand, he's not likely to turn into a superstar, whereas the 2018 Nets pick has some serious upside.

I wouldn't be so sure he won't be a superstar his age 20 and/or year 2 stats match up quite well to Dwight, Cousins, Drummond, Jordan, Gasol, etc.  Probably not going to super rebounding some of those guys are, but has much better offensive tools then a lot of them.

What makes you say that?

He's only 20 years old and he's averaging 15.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 30 minutes a night for a playoff team.
