Myles Turner. 6'11" big man who blocks shots and shoots beautifully from deep. Excellent touch.

The theory is we don't have to gamble on the pick and we don't have to wait so long for the player to develop.

If Larry is down, would you be.

Oh, and we are probably drafting one of Fultz, Ball, Jackson, Taytum. Add to that Myles Turner with Horford.

Plus the possibility of Hayward or Milsap and we are ready to compete for a title next year.

I'd do this in a heartbeat.

I'd even throw in the griz 2019 pick.
My biases, in order of fervor:
Pro:
Smart, Brown, Hayward, Tatum, Kemba, Grant Williams, Sleepy Williams, Edwards!

Anti:
Kanter, Semi, Theis, Poierier

Absolutely. Myles Turner would be super next to Al Horford. Turner plays well with a 2nd big man next to him. With Turner's shooting ability and his shot-blocking, he would make Boston a versatile unit on both ends of the court.

Yea 100% yes. Its possible that the 2018 pick could be better, but Turner is phenomenal. Turner would fit great on this team.

I don't really know either way. It kind of feels like Turner is regressing a bit this season, or at least not making a big improvement.

Something isn't right in Indy. Is Paul George not a superstar? Is Turner's defense bad?

Turners numbers look great but something feels off.

I would do it in a heartbeat but I have to assume that the Pacers would balk

This is an easy yes and should be obvious for anyone. But the truth is, Indiana hangs up the phone if the offer for Myles Turner is just the Nets 2018 pick.

Very sound theory.

Leads the league in block% and shooting over .400 from the arc. He's a unicorn.

Turner is young, and you're expecting George to carry the team on both ends.

The Pacers just aren't a very good team fundamentally on both ends of the floor.

He needs more defenders and shooters to allow him to operate.

But I suspect the Pacers would want a little more than just the 2018 Nets pick.

I called him as my draft binkie, right here on these pages, again and again.  Good luck getting him now!

I agree that the whole is less than the sum of the parts there. But Turner's net plus-minus is +11...maybe he's not the problem.

He's still 20. If he plateaus right now, he's a good get for a draft pick in the 5-10 range. If he improves, he's as good as you can reasonably hope for with a top 5 pick, unless you get really lucky.

For me, it seems like a good deal because the Nets HAVE to find a way to get better by next year.

They have to.

Right?

Because if they don't then we may have traded two over-the-hill stars for three top 3 picks in a row. I can't even believe that as I'm typing it.
