Jaylen Brown has now played 40 games (almost half a season) and 524 minutes in the NBA. He's averaging 4.8 ppg in 13.1 mpg, shooting .439/.310/.650.

What do you think of his play? His potential? And how has your opinion of him changed since draft day?

I've heard his handle is horrendous.  Also, need more threads about him.

He's a bust  ::) /sarcasm

I mean, seriously, he's only played half of a season.

What did you people expect, he would come out of the gate averaging 35 minutes a game putting up 20/5/5 numbers like Hayward and Butler?

His potential is no doubt there, just give him some time.

Haven't been this excited about a rookie since Pierce (Smart I was iffy about initially but now I've come to love him in Boston - and I think others can relate with me here as well).

PG13 and Butler came into the league with similar problems and similar dribbling issues.

But now we have a ton of trade rumors/ideas about acquiring PG13 or Butler

Patience my friends.

I'm impressed and genuinely believe that he will make the net trade worth it.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I love what I see from Brown in short minutes. A few mistakes, but he's a rookie, jeez give him a break. He oozes of potential.

If he can ever develop a shot, improve his handle, become a superior defender, he'll have the chance to go down in the history books some day. There's just something about him, especially during that Cavs game, which told me that this guy was a keeper.

I expected Jaylen to be more inefficient offensively. He has done good job limiting his turnovers and is keeping that TS% around 50%. Both better than I expected.

I thought Jaylen was 2-3 years away and still do. A guy with a lot of potential but very raw and could be just about anything.

I've heard his handle is horrendous.  Also, need more threads about him.

Clearly. For example, I think the handle discussion would have been more focused if we had one thread about his left-hand handle, and another about his right-hand handle.

And maybe one about how the fade is hindering his aerodynamics.

That said this half-season evaluation question seems fine to me. For my part I like what I've seen. Potential, decent progress and no red flags suggesting bust.

Plus, the kid is just likable. He's smart and humble and seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

He's got a long way to go but that was expected.

He seems to have some stuff going on mentally and I like his effort on defense.

I like how he finds the open man, good passer. Becoming a better finisher. 3 point shot better than college. Needs to improve handle, and just stay committed to attacking the hoop. World is his oyster.

I see a top 10 player in him. Long way to go obviously but he has shown flashes of everything needed.

To me there are only 3 true untouchables on the roster right now. IT, All and Brown. There are others I wouldn't trade but given that DA could go in several different directions I think he'd consider moving other players
