We would have lost if IT had not had that performance.  He carried us.  But it also made it more clear than ever that we need another star and are a team of roleplayers.   Horford was solid as well but he is a third option guy.   I think Ainge needs to trade for another star who can score and it would be nice if they could rebound as well.

I know folks here love KO, and claim he is an advanced metric stud.  Please post his metrics from last night.  The last three games have not been good ones for him.

Part of me thinks Ainge lets him walk or deals him at the deadline.

Perhaps he is hurt or the like but his stats are regressing as the year goes on.  His shooting, ppg and rpg have went down month to month.

That was his worst game as a Celtic.  He was booed off the court and the fans cheered when he got benched.  Played super soft and had a horrendous touch foul on a layup that gifted Miami a point.  I am struggling to see how they keep him on the roster.

Because that was his worst game and he's usually much better?  He's a valuable role player, and was clearly missed early season when he was out.

Maybe someone like Avery Bradley would help.  Good rebounder averaging 18 points a game.  Let's trade for him.

For those who missed the game (like me), it's currently re-airing on NBA TV.

It compensated for his loss but he is not going to score 50+ every game.  AB is important to us to be sure.

We still could use a big.

Watching the game on replay, and through three quarters I don't get the Kelly hate.  He's looked fine on both ends to me.  Not amazing, but fine.  I've seen him look much worse.  I'm preparing to see him stink in the 4th.

Okay, that was a bad two minutes to start the quarter.  But it was just two minutes, not an entire game.

Yes, he usually is better, but he made some horrendous plays last night capped off by a stupid touch foul on a layup attempt.  He will not become a better player until he stops getting dumb fouls.

It was the way he played - soft and lazy, with a terrible foul.

Right.  There were two bad fouls in that stretch (another when no one stopped the ball and KO came to help as the guy was already driving.  Someone else screwed up and Olynyk made it worse by committing a foul instead of conceding the points.)  But most of the time he had really good position on defense and made some nice plays on offense.  He disappeared on offense when Rozier was in the game, but that's because Rozier can't run an offense and Olynyk went several consecutive possessions without a touch as the ball got stuck on only one half of the court.

But really, it was two minutes of poor play and 17 minutes of adequate play.  I still don't understand the vitriol.  Everyone has a few minutes like that in the season.  His defense isn't very physical, but normally he's in the right place, able to cover his man and hedge a little to help.  I saw a lot of plays where the Heat just settled for contested jump shots instead of passing it to KOs man.  Granted, they made those shots, but that's not on KO.
