We'll lose depth short term but by retaining the Brooklyn picks we rebuild rather quickly. Plus we have a glut of guards who can fill in with a 4 man rotation of Thomas-Smart being backed up off the bench by Rozier-Jackson.

Crowder is taking minutes from Brown so we watch JB develop this season with the appropriate amount of PT.

I wish we were as vulnerable team as them.   They still have LeBron, Love and Irving, still pretty good folks, I still think they could beat us without JR.

The need you imagine simply does not exist, it is fantasy.

Call me crazy but I think that's a fair deal.
Love is a Perinial all star and was huge in the playoffs last year.
If I would do it is another story, we'd be very thin if we did.. but it's definitely a fair trade.

I think we overvalue our players way more than their actual worth.

Kevin Love is a 3x All star. Avery Bradley is an undersized defensive specialist who has developed a mid range jump shot and become a decent scorer. I don't think he will ever make an All Star team for the rest of his career. Jae Crowder has also developed nicely but only got min once he came to Boston because our roster lacked talent, frankly. He is a bench player who has significantly over performed and who we have on a cost controlled contract (but appropriate price for the player).

Kevin Love would give us the 20+ point scoring threat. He would also help with rebounding. He and Horford could work very well together.
that is pretty much my thoughts, but Cleveland would never make that trade for that exact reason.  Love is just flat out the best player in that trade and it isn't all that close.  And I really don't get the love affair with Crowder on this blog.  He is a nice solid role player who is starting because there is no one else that can start here.  As soon as Brown gets more comfortable Crowder will be riding the bench where he belongs.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I'd do it in a second.  Cleveland would laugh at it.  Love is a great player and I'm sure Cleveland wouldn't break up a championship team.  Plus Smith will be back well before the playoffs so I can't fathom why they would be interested in this deal.

I agree. I'm not sure Cleveland would laugh, as I think Crowder and Bradley would be instrumental in a potential series against Golden State. But we would obviously come out way ahead in that trade.

I would then see if Denver would entertain a Will Barton for James Young and Kelly Olynyk trade. Barton is just about as good as Crowder and would fit that role nicely with this team.

Thomas
Smart
Brown
Love
Horford

Rozier
Green
Barton
Mickey
Zeller

While keeping both Brooklyn picks, adding Zizic and Yabusele next year, and Maintaing cap flexibility to sign a major free agent, would be alright with me.
