Cleveland needs a replacement to JR Smith. Enter Avery Bradley.

Bradley/Crowder/Young for Love

Cleveland increase its ability to defend dramatically and replaces loss of Smith.

Crowder, Bradley, and Young for Kevin Love?

So who pray tell is our starting SG, and why the hell would we ever offer Bradley, nonetheless Crowder for Love? Would've taken Love last year as our PF, but Horford is just as good as fit for our team just like Love is, and probably a far better defender.

Is this a thread about how to help Cleveland to not be so vulnerable?

Love/Horford would actually be a potent passing/scoring big men duo, and I think those two would work well together, but I'm wary on losing 2 of our premier perimeter defenders to make up for Love's weakness on defense.

I mean, Love would solve a lot of our problems - another big-time scorer, rebounding, competent big man. But it's certainly not worth Bradley AND Crowder.

I'd do Bradley, Amir, and the Memphis pick for him, but no more. That's probably the rare trade that is good for everyone involved, too. This lineup is a contender:

PG: IT, Rozier
SG: Smart, Green
SF: Crowder, Brown
PF: Love, JJ
C: Horford, KO

I though the loss of Delly last year was going to hurt their depth. Mo Williams, Richard Jefferson, and Mike Dunleavy are all too old to give consistent minutes.

Liggins has come along and McRae has been good in stretches, but they really don't have depth at guard at all. This puts a lot of pressure on Irving and James.

With Irving's history of injuries, I wonder what it might do to them in the long season.

Love has actually been pretty good this year, but I can't give them both Bradley and Crowder, and I doubt they trade Love without getting both back.

Edit: Didn't they just lose Anderson too?

People rage at me when I suggest IT should get an extension...

But supposedly it's reasonable to ship Bradley + more to Cleveland... Yeah lets help Cleveland. Adding K. Love wouldn't help much if you give up two of our best defensive players (Bradley and Crowder).

But it's also not the first time a trade with Cleveland has been suggested involving Bradley and/or Crowder on this forum and blog.

I think we overvalue our players way more than their actual worth.

Kevin Love is a 3x All star. Avery Bradley is an undersized defensive specialist who has developed a mid range jump shot and become a decent scorer. I don't think he will ever make an All Star team for the rest of his career. Jae Crowder has also developed nicely but only got min once he came to Boston because our roster lacked talent, frankly. He is a bench player who has significantly over performed and who we have on a cost controlled contract (but appropriate price for the player).

Kevin Love would give us the 20+ point scoring threat. He would also help with rebounding. He and Horford could work very well together.

They are about the 6-6 th best team without LeBron .    If he gets an injury game over for a title.

This trade probably isn't going to happen but I feel like Avery would thrive in Cleveland playing next to Lebron. He is a very good catch and shoot player, and would be asked to do less on offense and focus in defense. He could really help the Cavs out defending the perimeter when they verse Golden State.

We'll lose depth and our perimeter defense with both Crowder and Bradley gone. You don't just trade for All-Stars. Last time Love made the All-Star was 2 years ago. I just don't see any upside on this trade either. Smith is a decent defender, but he's nowhere near the caliber of Bradley who shuts down elite PGs in the league. Its the same reason why the Warriors lost last season when Bogut went down followed with Draymond's suspension and Iggy's back pain which limit their defensive capabilities in the finals.
